No Man’s Sky update 6.2, Remnant, added the Gravitino Coil—a Multi-Tool attachment that can pull, repel, and launch certain objects—and a salvage activity built around industrial waste and Waste Processing Plants. It also expanded the Colossus with hauling, processing, scanning, terrain, and appearance options. Remnant launched on February 11, 2026; it is an update to the base game, not a separate gravity-gun product.
What is the gravity gun in No Man’s Sky?
The Gravitino Coil is the Remnant update’s gravity-manipulation device for the Multi-Tool. Hello Games’ 6.2 notes say it can magnetise, repel, toss, transport, and arrange a defined set of movable objects—not every object in the game.
Supported targets include industrial waste, golden balls found at planetary ruins, spheres made with the Sphere Creator base part, combat supplies dropped by Sentinel drones, and the drones themselves. Sentinels are briefly stunned when launched. The Coil is useful for gathering scrap, but its physics interactions also give it a playful side. Hello Games’ Remnant update notes list its supported uses.
How do I get the Gravitino Coil?
Hello Games’ update notes list the Coil at the Space Anomaly and planetary Waste Processing Plants. The same notes identify it as a Multi-Tool attachment, so look for it as technology for your tool rather than a standalone weapon or separate game.

How do I collect industrial waste in No Man’s Sky?
Remnant adds a salvage loop to planets that feature salvageable scrap. Small piles and larger heaps of industrial waste can be gathered with the Gravitino Coil, then taken to a Waste Processing Plant. Those facilities use specialised processing units for radioactive, explosive, and toxic materials; processing scrap yields recycled resources and rewards for cleaning the planet.
- Use the Colossus Exocraft Radar to locate nearby waste heaps and Waste Processing Plants.
- Use the Gravitino Coil to gather scrap from the piles and heaps you find.
- Take the collected waste to a plant and use the processing unit suited to its material.
This is a site-based activity, not a resource loop available on every planet. Hello Games also notes a tutorial mission for new scrap-hunters.

What does the Remnant update add to the Colossus?
The Colossus receives functional attachments and customisation options. Choose upgrades to suit the job rather than treating every module as a required build:
| Colossus addition | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tippable flatbed | Hauls large industrial-waste loads. An electromagnetic containment field reduces cargo loss over uneven ground, though Hello Games still advises care on steep slopes. |
| Mountable furnace | Processes materials while the vehicle is on the move. |
| Cyclops Scope | Enables Analysis Visor use while driving to locate fauna, flora, minerals, and mission locations. |
| Excavation Blade | Harvests resources from obstacles the Colossus destroys by colliding with them. |
| Superelastic wheels and tracked treads | Offer alternative running gear for planetary terrain. |
| Cabins, chassis attachments, and paint finishes | Expand the vehicle’s appearance options. New external cabin designs have matching cockpit interiors. |
Hello Games also lists improved handling, including downhill braking and more responsive turning in first person. The Colossus Geobay can save up to six named configurations, and the player Appearance Modifier can save up to six named outfits, according to the 6.2 notes.

Are Remnant’s expedition and Twitch rewards still available?
The rewards and schedules announced with Remnant are launch-era details. Hello Games said Expedition Twenty-One: Remnant would begin shortly and run for approximately six weeks. Its listed rewards included posters, decals, titles, an animated gesture, a camouflage finish, an asymmetrical Colossus cabin, mechanical legs, and the five-piece Heirloom customisation set.
The update page also announced Twitch Drops for February 12–16, 2026, with a 24-hour claim window after unlocking. Those dates have passed. The announcement does not establish that these time-limited rewards can still be claimed; check current official event information for availability.

When did Remnant launch, and what platforms is it on?
Hello Games released Remnant as update 6.2 on February 11, 2026. In Sean Murray’s announcement that day, the Hello Games founder wrote: “Today we’re pleased to announce that our first update of 2026, our 10th anniversary year, is already rolling out.” The announcement describes Remnant as the year’s first update for the game’s tenth-anniversary year.
Hello Games’ release log lists Remnant for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass. The same log includes later releases, including The Swarm and Xeno Arena, so Remnant is not the newest update listed there. For current compatibility, performance, or the latest platform-specific patch, consult the official release log.
