Elden Ring’s Nomad Ashes summon a single nomad spirit. You can find them in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds beneath Leyndell, but the spirit’s own item description warns that it is frail and has low HP. Its FP cost is disputed by reference guides, so check the item’s displayed cost in your game rather than relying on an unverified number.
What do the Nomad Ashes do?
Nomad Ashes are a Spirit Ash item that summons the spirit of a nomad. The item description says the spirit can emit the Flame of Frenzy from its eyes, but also describes it as having low HP and being unable to take much punishment. That is the item’s stated description, not a guarantee of how it will perform in every encounter.

Spirit Ashes can be summoned with the Spirit Calling Bell near Rebirth Monuments, according to Bandai Namco’s general guide to combat and exploration. The publisher also notes that different spirits fill different combat roles; its guidance is general and does not provide Nomad-specific stats.
Where to find the Nomad Ashes
The ashes are in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, the underground area beneath Leyndell. Eldenpedia identifies the pickup as a corpse hanging off a ledge on the second broken curved staircase. Eldenpedia’s Nomad Ashes entry gives that landmark; Game8’s guide also places the item in the Shunning-Grounds beneath Leyndell.

- Collaborating with George R.R. Martin to create the ELDEN RING mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration. The team is working hard to ensure that the world of ELDEN RING will be a fascinating place for players to explore, filled with peril and wonder from its furthest reaches to its lowest depths. This is a FromSoftware title through and through, rich in fantasy and RPG action. We sincerely hope you look forward to it.
- Building the world of ELDEN RING with Miyazaki-san and his team was a treat! The graphics, mythos, and action-RPG gameplay will deliver an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait for people to see what ELDEN RING has in store for them.” Said George R.R. Martin.
How much FP do the Nomad Ashes cost?
Published guides disagree: Eldenpedia lists 61 FP, while Game8’s guide, updated June 10, 2025, lists 28 FP. The available sources do not establish whether the difference comes from an error, a game update, or another cause, and neither figure is confirmed here as universally correct.
Check the cost shown for the item in your game version before planning around it. The publisher’s Spirit Ash guidance explains the general summoning mechanic but does not give a Nomad-specific FP cost.
