NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 591.74 is a Windows WHQL release from January 5, 2026. It added support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and listed fixes for Arena Breakout: Infinite, display brightness and color issues, and RTX HDR black screens on LG OLED TVs in Vulkan games. It is a historical release, not a current-driver recommendation: NVIDIA’s driver results include newer releases, so check the latest version for your GPU and Windows installation before downloading.
What 591.74 adds: DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution
NVIDIA’s January 5, 2026 announcement introduced DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, which NVIDIA said uses a second-generation transformer model and was available that day. NVIDIA described it as improving image quality in “over 400 games and apps.” That is NVIDIA’s announcement-time figure, not an independent measurement or a current game count. NVIDIA also said more than 250 games and apps supported DLSS 4 at that point.
The announcement separately said 6X Dynamic Multi Frame Generation was planned for spring. That planned feature should not be confused with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution availability on January 5.
Fixes listed in the release notes
NVIDIA’s 591.74 release page lists these fixes. They are issues NVIDIA says the driver addresses; the notes do not guarantee that every instance will be resolved or establish that the release has no other bugs.

Should you install 591.74?
Use it as a historical release reference, not as a default recommendation today. If one of the listed issues affects you, or you specifically need the launch version of DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, the notes explain why 591.74 may be relevant. Otherwise, check NVIDIA’s live driver results for a newer compatible driver before installing; the results include releases later than 591.74, including 596.21 dated April 16, 2026.
NVIDIA’s driver download page lets you check current availability. Verify the exact GPU, operating system and supported-products listing rather than assuming that any GeForce card or Windows setup is covered. The 591.74 page lists Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11.

Notebook users
NVIDIA notes that notebook manufacturers provide certified drivers for specific notebook GPUs and recommends checking the notebook maker’s recommended software updates. Follow that guidance if your laptop manufacturer specifies a driver for your model.
App and feature availability
At launch, NVIDIA directed users to install the Game Ready driver and a new NVIDIA app beta to enhance titles with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution. That describes the January 2026 setup; app versions and feature availability can change. Check NVIDIA’s current instructions rather than relying on the launch-era beta directions.

What the release notes do—and do not—establish
The release notes identify fixes NVIDIA lists and the announcement describes DLSS 4.5’s launch. They do not provide independent benchmark results, measured performance gains for 591.74, or evidence that every user will experience a particular visual improvement. Treat NVIDIA’s game counts and feature descriptions as claims made at the January 2026 announcement, not as independently verified or current totals.
