NVIDIA announced its desktop GeForce RTX 5060 family on April 15, 2025. The RTX 5060 Ti went on sale first, on April 16, in 8GB and 16GB versions; the RTX 5060 followed in May. The key differences are memory options, CUDA core count, and power: the Ti has 4,608 cores and 180W total graphics power, while the RTX 5060 has 3,840 cores and 145W.
When did the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti come out?
NVIDIA announced the desktop RTX 5060 family on April 15, 2025. Its launch announcement scheduled RTX 5060 Ti cards for April 16, with RTX 5060 cards to follow in May. NVIDIA’s May 19, 2025 update said the RTX 5060 was out and partner cards were available. These dates describe the original launch sequence, not current stock or availability in every region. NVIDIA’s April 15 announcement and its May 19 availability update document the rollout.
What is the difference between the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti?
NVIDIA’s current family specifications distinguish the cards in compute, memory configurations, clock speeds, and power. The Ti is offered with either 8GB or 16GB of GDDR7; the non-Ti RTX 5060 has 8GB. Both use supplementary PCIe power, but NVIDIA lists a higher system-power recommendation for the Ti.
| Specification | GeForce RTX 5060 Ti | GeForce RTX 5060 |
|---|---|---|
| CUDA cores | 4,608 | 3,840 |
| Memory | 8GB or 16GB GDDR7 | 8GB GDDR7 |
| Boost clock | 2.57 GHz | 2.50 GHz |
| Base clock | 2.41 GHz | 2.28 GHz |
| Total graphics power | 180W | 145W |
| Required system power listed by NVIDIA | 600W | 550W |
Specifications are from NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 family page. The 16GB Ti provides twice the memory capacity of either 8GB option; that is a capacity distinction, not a guarantee of a particular frame-rate gain. NVIDIA’s published specification page lists both card types with PCIe 8-pin cable(s), or a 300W-or-greater PCIe Gen 5 cable; an adapter is included in the box. Exact requirements and connector arrangements can differ by partner-card model.

What did the cards cost at launch?
NVIDIA announced US launch starting prices of $379 for the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, $429 for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, and $299 for the RTX 5060. Those are historical launch figures from April 2025, not current retail prices or a statement about present-day availability. Board-partner models can have different prices and specifications. NVIDIA named ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC among the manufacturers offering stock-clocked or factory-overclocked cards. Details such as cooler, clock, dimensions, and price depend on the exact model. NVIDIA’s launch release is the source for the announced starting prices.
What power supply do you need for an RTX 5060?
NVIDIA lists required system power of 550W for the RTX 5060 and 600W for the RTX 5060 Ti. These are NVIDIA’s recommendations, not a guarantee that any system with a supply of that wattage will be compatible. Check the exact card’s product listing for its connector and dimensions, and account for the rest of the PC—including its CPU and other components—when assessing a power supply. NVIDIA lists PCIe 8-pin cable(s), or a 300W-or-greater PCIe Gen 5 cable with an adapter in the box, for both family members. Its specification page says partner-card slot dimensions vary by manufacturer.

What does NVIDIA claim about gaming performance?
The RTX 5060 family is based on NVIDIA’s Blackwell platform and supports DLSS 4, including Multi Frame Generation, as well as ray tracing and Reflex. NVIDIA says Multi Frame Generation can generate up to three additional frames for each traditionally rendered frame. That describes a frame-generation feature, not a promise of equivalent improvement to native rendering in every game; results depend on supported games and enabled features.
NVIDIA’s launch materials also cited frame-rate multipliers of up to 8x in discussion of the DLSS suite. Its comparisons specify DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction on the compared generations, with Multi Frame Generation in 4X mode on RTX 50-series cards. The current product-page chart compares the RTX 5060 Ti with the RTX 3060 Ti at 1440p maximum settings and the RTX 5060 with the RTX 3060 at 1080p maximum settings, with DLSS enabled. These are NVIDIA’s vendor comparisons under those conditions, not independent benchmark results or native-rendering comparisons. NVIDIA’s April 15 GeForce announcement said DLSS 4 was in more than 100 games and apps; its May 19 update reported more than 125 games and apps supporting Multi Frame Generation. Both counts are dated NVIDIA statements.
