Around the same time, trout prices reportedly climbed in October 2025—but reports do not show that Lousifer caused the rise or profited from it.
What happened at Edgeville?
In October 2025, Lousifer attempted to eat 500,000 trout at Edgeville bank on world 499. Other players reportedly donated fish and gathered to watch, turning the long-running task into a community spectacle.
A Reddit post described the player as having been at it for five days, but that was a community account rather than independently verified timing. PC Gamer reported continued donations and a crowd on October 23. GamesRadar+ wrote the following day that Lousifer had gone beyond the initial target; neither report establishes an exact final count or confirms that all 500,000 trout were consumed.
Did the stunt make trout more expensive?
PC Gamer reported that osrs.exchange prices rose from about 70 gp to 120 gp around October 20, 2025. Those are historical figures reported by the outlet, not current prices or an official market dataset. The same article cited a player’s anecdote about buying trout at 107 gp.

The timing prompted speculation that someone could have benefited from the increase. But the reporting does not establish that Lousifer engineered the price movement, held extra trout, or sold fish for a profit. A price rise occurring alongside a popular stunt is not proof that the player caused it.
What did Jagex say?
PC Gamer attributed two playful remarks to Jagex moderator Mod Nin: “Godspeed, trout man” and “Trout skill releasing Winter 2027.” The latter was a joke, not an official announcement of a new skill.
