Why the purple group fits

CYBERSPACE may look like it belongs with NET and WEB, but that is the red herring: it fits the purple group because it ends in SPACE.

How Connections works

Connections presents sixteen words to sort into four groups of four. The categories have color-coded difficulty levels, from yellow through purple, and players can make up to four mistakes. The game is available through NYT Games on desktop and mobile. Since a new puzzle appears at midnight in each time zone, “today’s” puzzle can refer to different dates depending on where a player is; this archive guide is specifically for August 28, 2025. TechRadar contributor Johnny Dee explains the time-zone distinction in the August 27 guide.
