Why the words fit
Yellow: INFLUX
RASH, RUSH, SURGE, and WAVE can each describe a sudden large arrival or increase. RASH is the trickiest word here: it can suggest a rapid burst or series, rather than the more familiar skin irritation.
Green: SUBSEQUENT
COMING, FOLLOWING, FUTURE, and LATER all refer to what is still to come or what happens after a point in time.

The main trap: COMING versus RASH
COMING can sound like an influx because something coming may be arriving. But it belongs with FOLLOWING, FUTURE, and LATER, which point to what happens afterward or lies ahead. RASH instead joins RUSH, SURGE, and WAVE as a word for a large or sudden influx. Forbes contributor Kris Holt described making this very swap: “My mistake was in putting COMING in place of RASH in what became a collection of words meaning INFLUX.”

Forbes reports that Connections allows three incorrect guesses; a fourth wrong guess ends the game. That makes it worth checking whether a word has a stronger fit elsewhere before submitting a group.
