Full Connections answers for December 29, 2025
Full solution spoiler:
- Yellow — TENDENCY: COURSE, DIRECTION, TIDE, TREND
- Green — BIOLOGICAL STRUCTURES: CELL, GENE, PROTEIN, TISSUE
- Blue — SUMMER OLYMPIC EVENTS: ATHLETICS, EQUESTRIAN, SWIMMING, TRIATHLON
- Purple — CAR BRAND HOMOPHONES: INFINITY, MINNIE, OPAL, OUTIE
Why the purple group is a little different
The intended wordplay is that the four tiles sound like car-brand names. It is not a perfect set of homophones: OUTIE does not phonetically match Audi. Treat the label as the puzzle’s intended sound-alike connection, not an exact pronunciation rule.

Was this Connections puzzle difficult?
TechRadar’s guide writer rated the puzzle “Hard” and reported making one mistake. That is one person’s subjective experience, not a measured difficulty rating. The guide also noted that the Olympic answers are event categories rather than individual events, and that a pool-related grouping could look plausible but is incorrect.
