How Connections works
The New York Times describes Connections as a game in which players receive 16 words and find four groups of four that share a connection. The groups are color-coded from yellow, the easiest, to purple, the trickiest. Words can seem to fit more than one category, but each puzzle has one solution. Read the NYT Help Center’s game and archive information.
Where to play and find the archive
The NYT Help Center says Connections is available through the Games app, NYTimes.com, The Athletic site, and the News app. The daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone. The archive includes puzzles dating back to June 12, 2023, and archive access is available to All Access and Games subscribers. Access terms can change, so check the official Connections page for current availability.
