NYT Connections puzzle #891, for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, groups its 16 entries around a funny person, kinds of tomatoes, Best Actress Oscar winners, and words ending in synonyms for “location.” Hints come first below; the complete answer key follows a spoiler warning.

How Connections works

Connections asks you to sort 16 entries into four groups of four, each linked by a hidden rule. Plausible overlaps can be red herrings: Forbes says players have three incorrect guesses before a fourth wrong guess ends the game. Forbes’ puzzle guide confirms the game mechanics and answer groups.

Why the film connection is a red herring

ROMA, JOKER, and PARASITE may suggest a group of film titles, but that leaves no clear fourth entry. TechRadar describes the same tempting path, including the possibility of adding CHERRY, before the tomato grouping becomes apparent. The useful check is whether a proposed rule accounts for all four words—not merely whether several words fit. TechRadar’s November 18 guide also confirms the puzzle date and number.
