How Connections: Sports Edition works
The puzzle presents 16 words that players sort into four groups of four based on a shared connection. You can rearrange or shuffle the board as you look for links. The group colors indicate increasing difficulty: yellow, green, blue, then purple. A wrong guess counts as a mistake; the game allows up to four mistakes before it ends.
Connections: Sports Edition is playable in a web browser or on mobile devices. It launched in association with The Athletic, The New York Times property focused on sports coverage. The October 29, 2024 puzzle and answer key were reported by Mashable in an article syndicated by Yahoo.
