The answers are below, organized by direction.
Across answers

|---|---|---|
| 1 Across | How many roads lead to Rome, it’s said | ALL |
| 4 Across | Total laughfest | RIOT |
| 6 Across | Flip phone? | ENOHP |
| 8 Across | Reverse dunk? | KNUD |
| 9 Across | Ass-backwards? | SSA |
Down answers
| Entry | Clue | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Down | “Where the Wild Things ___” | ARE |
| 2 Down | Need for accessing an online meeting | LINK |
| 3 Down | Birds that swim underwater to catch fish | LOONS |
| 5 Down | “And so, as a result …” | THUS |
| 7 Down | Park bench kissing and such, for short | PDA |
Why three Across answers look reversed
ENOHP reverses PHONE, KNUD reverses DUNK, and SSA reverses ASS. The reversal pattern is the puzzle’s central gimmick; the remaining Across and Down entries use their ordinary spellings. The complete answer set also appears in Mashable’s dated guide and Forbes’ guide.
Playing this past puzzle
Forbes reported in its August 2025 guide that the Mini was free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app, while accessing previous puzzles in the archives required an NYT Games subscription. That is a dated description; current archive access and subscription terms may differ.
