Easy Pips hints
Try each hint before reading the next. The easy board has five dominoes and six regions.
Hint 1: Start with the equals region
The three-cell equals region must contain the same number in all three cells. The walkthrough identifies the 6/6 double and 6/0 domino as the pieces that fill it.

Hint 2: Track the other half of the 6/0 domino
Place the 6/6 double in two cells of the equals region, then put the 6 half of the 6/0 domino in its third cell. The 0 half feeds the neighboring two-cell region that must total 1.
Hint 3: Complete the sum-1 region
With 0 already in one cell, the other cell needs 1. The walkthrough uses the 5/1 domino there, sending its 5 to the region that totals 10.

A practical way to solve Pips
- Inventory the dominoes. Note each pair and whether it is a double; keep track of pieces as they are used.
- Find the tightest region. Small regions with exact sums, equality rules, or narrow comparison limits usually offer fewer possible values.
- Check both halves of each placement. A domino can bridge two regions, so a value that works in one cell can force the other half into a neighboring rule.
- Propagate deductions. Once a cell is fixed, update the remaining sum or available values in every region that touches it.
- Recheck the whole board. Confirm every region’s rule and that every domino has been used correctly.
These are general techniques recommended in the consulted puzzle guides, not a claim of independent testing.
