The complete solution for game #134 is:
- DUKE
- RICE

Spangram: UNIVERSITIES
Why these answers fit the theme
Each of the six theme words is the name of a university, and UNIVERSITIES identifies the group they share. That connects the answers to the clue “Give it the ol’ college try”; they are puzzle entries, not clues about admissions, degree programs, or university rankings.
How the Strands board works
Strands is a word-search-style puzzle: connect letters on the board to form words related to the theme. The spangram expresses the relationship among those words, reaches two opposite sides of the board, and receives a distinct highlight. Finding qualifying words that are not theme answers can earn in-game hints, according to a gameplay guide.
