Hints for the May 14, 2026 Strands puzzle
Use these clues in order if you want to keep solving before seeing the answers:
- The theme points to a well-known outlaw from English legend.
- Think about his woodland home, his allies and the lawman who pursues him.
- Some answers connect to his disguise or his skill with a bow and arrow.
In Strands, words can run in any direction, including diagonally, and can bend around corners. The spangram captures the puzzle’s overall theme. Nerd’s Chalk’s guide provides the answer set and a Robin Hood clue progression.

Together, the words evoke Robin Hood: an outlaw associated with archery and the forest, his disguise and allies, and the sheriff who opposes him. These answers are corroborated by two secondary puzzle-answer sources; they are not presented here as the result of first-hand play. Tom’s Guide’s May 14 listing also identifies the puzzle as “Men in tights.”
