Strands uses a six-by-eight letter grid. Words are formed by connecting vertically, horizontally, or diagonally neighboring letters. The theme clue points toward the shared connection among the answers, while the spangram names that connection and stretches across the board. According to Forbes, finding three valid non-theme words of at least four letters unlocks a hint that highlights one theme word.
