How it differs from the other anniversary releases
The June 6, 2024 anniversary announcement grouped several projects together, making “the new Tetris game” an ambiguous description. These are the distinct products and announcements:

Why 2024 was a Tetris anniversary year
The Tetris Company marked the game’s 40th anniversary on June 6, 2024, calling it World Tetris Day and saying Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984. The company’s anniversary release reported more than 520 million units sold worldwide; it did not provide a methodology or underlying dataset for that figure.
The company also announced a Tetris x Minecraft downloadable-content collaboration and licensed merchandise. Those initiatives were separate from Tetris Block Puzzle.

What is established about availability and rewards?
playSTUDIOS said Tetris Block Puzzle was available as a free download for iOS and Android when it launched. The release also described myVIP loyalty points and possible rewards connected to the new game and the refreshed Tetris app. Those are time-sensitive launch-period details; current availability and reward terms are not established by the announcements. Check the relevant app-store listing and the publisher’s current terms before relying on them.
A later announcement described a Spin Master line of physical Tetris-inspired games and puzzles, with an initial wave planned for fall 2025. It named product categories such as multiplayer board games, puzzles, and cards, but did not establish the current availability of any particular item. These physical products are distinct from the digital game.
