From the top of the Wizard’s Tower in Oblivion Remastered, players can reportedly spot Skyrim’s Throat of the World far beyond the map. The view is scenery, not a route into Skyrim; the claim that it was absent from the 2006 original comes from a player report, not an official Bethesda confirmation.
Where to find the Skyrim mountain view
Climb to the top of the Wizard’s Tower and look toward the distant edge of the map. X user @sackchief described seeing Skyrim’s tallest mountain there. Andrew Highton’s April 25, 2025, Insider Gaming report identifies it as the Throat of the World and reproduces the player’s April 24 post.
The report describes a distant landmark, not a playable passage to Skyrim. It does not establish a route, map transition, or way to reach the mountain.
Was the view missing from the original Oblivion?
@sackchief wrote that the view “was not in the original game.” That is a player’s comparison, relayed by Insider Gaming; the report does not cite an official Bethesda statement or a documented side-by-side test confirming the difference. It is therefore fair to call the view a reported Remastered Easter egg, but not to present its absence from the original as officially verified.
