If you want to fight for drops, Pollution Zones are another option—but they corrode structures and make death more costly. There is no established universal best route or current Acid-per-hour figure, so choose based on your unlocked recipes, available materials, and how much active play or setup you want.
Choose a route based on what you have

The current game-data guide lists exploration, Deviant kills, and crafting as acquisition methods. Its recipe details were updated October 6, 2026; check your in-game recipe list because crafting options are alternate recipes and availability may depend on your scenario. Get Acid through exploration and enemy drops
Loot containers as you travel and defeat Deviants; both are listed as ways to obtain Acid. GameSpot’s July 2024 guide also describes Acid drops from enemies, including Gnawers, but that older enemy-specific detail should not be treated as a current guaranteed drop table. Convert materials in a furnace
The current guide lists two alternate furnace recipes, each producing one Acid. The listed compatible facilities are the Hybrid Electric Furnace, Stardust-Powered Electric Furnace, and Recycling Electric Furnace.

These are conversions, not free production: weigh the Acid against what else you need the input materials for. Verify the recipe unlock and furnace availability in your current scenario before gathering ingredients.
Use Isles of Abyss recipes when available
In the Isles of Abyss scenario, the Advanced Synthesis Bench has two additional listed conversions. Each makes one Acid:

- 30 Fossil → 1 Acid.
These bench recipes are specific to Isles of Abyss; they are not a general option across all scenarios.
Automate water processing with a Brewing Barrel
The Brewing Barrel recipe is Purified Water + Impure Acid = Acid. In practical terms, set up water supply and purification to provide Purified Water, obtain Impure Acid, then connect the relevant facilities so the Brewing Barrel can process the ingredients. Older tutorials describe polluted water feeding a Reverse Osmosis Purifier to make Impure Acid and advise manually moving materials. Treat those tier-specific instructions and manual-transfer steps as historical: the official update documents later pipe connections and automation. The sources do not establish a current universal output rate or prove that this is the fastest method.
Farm Pollution Zone enemies with the risks in mind
Once Human’s official Version 2.3.1 update, published January 21, 2026, says that defeating enemies in Pollution Zones yields both Stardust Source and Acid. That makes the zone an active combat route, not a passive Acid generator. Once Human Version 2.3.1 update notes

- Already have spare inputs? Use the furnace if you have Stardust Source, or Sulfur and Energy Link, and the alternate recipe is unlocked.
- Playing Isles of Abyss? The Advanced Synthesis Bench gives you the Sunfish and Fossil conversions if those materials are available.
- Want production that can run through connected facilities? Build around the Brewing Barrel formula and the documented water-pipe connections.
- Prefer to farm while fighting? Pollution Zone enemies drop Acid, but account for structure corrosion and the increased gear penalty on death.
- Just playing normally? Loot and fight as you explore; it can add Acid without committing to a dedicated setup.
No comparable current measurements establish a highest-yield method, so there is no reliable basis for an Acid-per-hour ranking. The choice comes down to your scenario, recipe access, materials, and tolerance for active combat or facility upkeep.
