You do not lose your Once Human character when a scenario ends, but you do not carry every part of your current run directly into the next one. Character-level progress such as level and Memetics resets under scenario rules; account progress is retained in several forms, while much of your physical inventory moves to Eternaland. Before you transition, check your server’s phase and the current in-game inheritance and transfer screens so you know what you can bring forward and what it will cost in Resource Points.
What happens to your progress when a scenario ends?
Once Human separates scenario progress from account-level progress. The distinction matters: a reset is a move between scenarios, not deletion of your character, but you should expect to rebuild scenario-bound progress.
Progress that resets
Character level and Memetics are treated as part of the scenario experience and reset according to that scenario’s rules. The Once Human Development Team’s August 13, 2024 season explainer identifies leveling and Memetics as scenario-linked progression.
Progress that is retained
The official carry-over list includes character identity, cosmetics, important currencies, blueprints, mods, furniture formulas, house blueprints, and task progress. Some rare or scenario-linked exceptions apply, and updates can change specific rules. The official seasons and scenarios guide is the baseline; check the current scenario’s in-game inheritance screen for its applicable exceptions.

What goes to Eternaland, and what can enter the next scenario?
Items that do not carry directly into your next scenario may still be kept in Eternaland. The official guide says regular materials, medicine, ammunition, crafted weapons and armor, Deviations, and calibration blueprints are sent there. That is different from automatic account-level retention: Eternaland storage is not the same as having those items ready in the next world.
Taking items into a new scenario is selective. You receive a limited Resource Points allowance, and each eligible item consumes points. The official guide does not establish one universal transfer list or a fixed cost for every item; eligibility and point prices should be checked in the current in-game interface before you plan around them.

How Energy Links are handled
Energy Links move to Eternaland and are converted to Astral Sand at the ratio specified by the official season guide. Do not assume they remain spendable as Energy Links in the next scenario. Whether to spend them before transition depends on your current scenario and priorities; the stable carry-over fact is the conversion, not a universal recommendation to spend them.
How to prepare before the transition
- Check your server’s phase and countdown. Use the scenario or server interface to confirm its current phase, registration window, and end countdown. There is no single reset date that applies to every server.
- Choose when to move on. You can sign up for another scenario during the final phase, remain through settlement, or return to Eternaland when a server closes if you have not registered. The August 2024 official explainer described four weeks of settlement for the “current scenarios” at that time; that duration is historical, not a guarantee for every current server.
- Save your house blueprint. House blueprints are among the retained progress listed by the official guide. Keep yours available if you plan to reuse a design; rebuilding it in a new scenario still requires building materials.
- Separate persistent progress from carried items. Review your blueprints, mods, formulas, currencies, and task progress separately from your physical inventory. Their rules differ, and the in-game inheritance screen is the place to verify current exceptions.
- Sort inventory for the next scenario. Expect regular goods and crafted gear to go to Eternaland. For anything you want to take forward, confirm that it is eligible and check its Resource Points cost in the transfer interface before committing your limited allowance.
Special case: permanent scenario servers
Do not apply ordinary scenario-transition rules blindly to a permanent server. An official notice says that signing up early on a permanent scenario server can reset level and scenario resources; waiting until the current scenario ends allows progress to be preserved through merge. Cosmetics, titles, social relationships, and achievements carry over as usual under the notice. See the official permanent-server notice from December 2025 and follow the current in-game instructions, since the notice also documents update-sensitive changes to Scenario Challenge unlocks and task progress.
