In its July 9, 2024 release FAQ, Starry Studio said players could create characters across all servers and apologized for delaying the feature. At launch, this mattered because characters were tied to server and scenario choices, including two scenarios with different PvP experiences.
Why Once Human restricted character creation at launch
In the game’s July 9, 2024 release FAQ, Once Human’s developer said it had temporarily disabled multiple-character creation because the experience associated with the feature was not satisfactory. The team had originally planned to bring it back after refinement by August 1, but said that plan diminished the player experience. It apologized and said it had expedited the feature’s return in response to user feedback.
Windows Central reported on July 10, 2024, that players could then create additional characters for different servers. The report also observed that there did not appear to be an option to delete unwanted characters at that time; that was a contemporaneous observation, not confirmation of the current deletion rules.
How multiple characters related to servers and scenarios
At launch, character creation mattered for players who wanted to join friends on another server or try a different scenario. The official FAQ described two scenarios with different PvP availability and said their rewards were the same:
#1 Best Overall
- LEARN THE HUMAN BODY THROUGH PLAY: Core Five is a fast-paced STEM card game that teaches kids ages 6+ real anatomy — organ location, function, and fun facts — without it ever feeling like a lesson.
- PERFECT FOR FAMILY GAME NIGHT & HOMESCHOOL: A go-to educational card game for family game nights, homeschooling, and classrooms — screen-free learning the whole family enjoys together.
- 56 CARDS, 8 ORGANS, ENDLESS FUN: Each card covers organ location, importance, what helps or hurts it, and related medical professions — real science content packed into quick, replayable rounds.
- SIMPLE RULES, FAST ROUNDS: Collect 5 cards and shout "Core Five" (or 6 in Bonus Mode) — easy enough for ages 6+ to learn in minutes, engaging enough for repeat play.
- BONUS KNOWLEDGE ROUND: Winners ask an organ question to the table — first correct answer scores bonus points, turning every game into an extra round of learning.
| Launch scenario | PvP availability, as described in the July 2024 FAQ | Rewards, as described in the FAQ |
|---|---|---|
| Manibus | No PvP content | The same as Evolution’s Call |
| Evolution’s Call | Included PvP content, such as Stronghold Conquest | The same as Manibus |
The developer recommended choosing between them based on whether a player wanted PvP. This is a description of the launch scenarios in the 2024 FAQ, not a statement of the game’s current scenario lineup or rules.

Multiple character slots did not initially mean characters shared their progress or items. In a March 4, 2025 update preview, the developer said it planned cross-character asset sharing for March 27. It explained that assets tied to individual character progress made it harder to create characters for other scenarios or play with friends. The preview described selected account-level sharing, rather than unrestricted sharing of everything across characters.

The March 21, 2025 rules notice added operational details:
- Some progress and blueprint data would follow the character with the highest Blueprint Collection level.
- Players needed to log in with existing characters to consolidate certain other data, including mods and cosmetics.
- An Account Depot in Eternaland enabled item transfers using Resource Points, but items could not be transferred into novice scenarios.
- The Mod Backpack limit was 2,000 slots. The notice set out how excess mods would be retained or converted using its prioritization rules.
Those details describe the March 2025 implementation rules. They do not, by themselves, establish every sharing or transfer rule in the live game in 2026.
