The ports themselves launched on November 21, 2025, with free upgrades available to eligible owners of earlier console versions.
Which fighters did fans vote for?
Eneru, King, and Z were the three community-selected characters added in DLC 8: Special Selection Pack. Toei Animation reported that the pack was available February 5, 2026. Toei Animation’s announcement describes all three as chosen by the community in early 2025.

The original poll offered 23 candidates and let each participant select up to three total—not three from each category. The vote ran through February 28, 2025, and is now closed. The official Japanese survey page says participation required a free Bandai Namco ID. The official survey page confirms the poll is finished.
The 23 candidates
- World Government and Marines: Sengoku, Ryokugyu, Kaku, S-Hawk, and Sentomaru.
- Female characters: Vivi & Karoo, Koala, Baby 5, Monet, and Perona.
- Wano: King, Ulti, Queen, Kyoshiro, and Apoo.
- Films: Shiki, Zephyr (Z), Tesoro, and Bullet.
- Former enemies: Eneru, Moria, Magellan, and Foxy.
The published result names the three selected additions but does not give vote totals, rankings, margins, or the number of participants.

When did the PS5 and Xbox Series ports launch?
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions became available on November 21, 2025. Bandai Namco says the newer versions include visual enhancements and more enemies on screen; its European announcement also specifies improved visual effects and faster loading. Bandai Namco’s launch announcement covers availability and the enemy-count improvement, while Bandai Namco Europe’s notice lists the additional feature details.
The announcement came earlier, on February 12, 2025. At that point Bandai Namco had not yet revealed a release date. It announced the ports, free upgrades for PS4 and Xbox One owners, and the fan survey on the same day it reported that the game had sold 4 million units worldwide. That figure is the milestone Bandai Namco Entertainment America reported in 2025, not a current sales total. The February announcement also described the game as an action title developed by KOEI TECMO Games.

Can existing owners upgrade for free?
Bandai Namco’s February 2025 announcement promised free upgrades for PS4 and Xbox One owners. Its November launch notice also lists Nintendo Switch owners among those eligible for a free upgrade. The available evidence does not specify identical upgrade procedures across platforms, so check the relevant platform store for eligibility and steps.
- PS4: Free upgrade to PS5 announced for eligible owners.
- Xbox One: Free upgrade to Xbox Series X|S announced for eligible owners.
- Nintendo Switch: The November 2025 launch notice also lists Switch owners for a free upgrade; consult the platform store for the applicable process.
Which platforms and editions are available?
Bandai Namco’s US game page lists PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Editions and included downloadable content vary by region, so the local store listing is the reliable place to confirm what a particular bundle contains.

For example, Bandai Namco Europe says the Legendary Edition replaces the previous Deluxe Edition and includes the Ultimate Edition and Character Pass 3. The US publisher page describes Ultimate Edition contents as the base game, the first two Character Passes, and an Additional Episodes Pack. These are regional edition descriptions, not a guarantee that every storefront currently offers the same bundle. Bandai Namco Europe’s game page and Bandai Namco’s US game page list their respective details.
The November 2025 launch announcement also mentions Character Pack 7. DLC inclusion should be checked on the platform store before purchasing an edition or add-on; the announcements do not establish current prices or retailer stock.
