Praying Respects was a skilling fragment in Old School RuneScape’s Shattered Relics League. When equipped, it automatically buried bones and scattered ashes, awarding Prayer experience at a rate that depended on its level: 50%, 100%, or 200% of the usual amount.
What did Praying Respects do?
Praying Respects automated the handling of bones and ashes: while the fragment was slotted, it buried bones and scattered ashes for you. Its experience multiplier rose with the fragment’s level.
| Fragment level | Prayer XP for bones and ashes |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | 50% of the usual experience |
| Level 2 | 100% of the usual experience |
| Level 3 | 200% of the usual experience |
These are the listed rates for the fragment’s league effect, not a statement about Prayer training in the current main game. The Old School RuneScape Wiki’s league guide lists the three tiers; a secondary guide from Games Learning Society, published October 10, 2024, also describes the fragment and its effect.
How did you activate it?
You had to slot Praying Respects for its effect to work. Fragment slots were limited, so equipping it could mean removing another fragment. Players could unlock additional slots by progressing through league tiers, which involved completing tasks.
#1 Best Overall
That made the choice a trade-off: faster Prayer experience and automatic handling of remains versus the effect of another fragment. The available descriptions do not provide comparative XP-per-hour figures or build simulations, so they do not establish when using the slot was the best choice.
Was Praying Respects part of the main game?
No. Praying Respects was associated with Shattered Relics League, OSRS’s third league, rather than an established permanent main-game feature. In that league, players could unlock skills and additional bosses using Sage’s Renown earned from tasks, and spend league points on cosmetic rewards. See the Games Learning Society Shattered Relics League guide for that context.
