Jetpack Cat was the most-banned of Overwatch 2’s new heroes in Blizzard’s February 16–23, 2026 snapshot: her ban rate ranged from 66.5% on North American servers to 80.7% on South Korean servers. Domina ranked second. Those figures cover Ranked Role Queue matches across all ranks for that week—not current rates across every mode or region.
What were the Overwatch 2 hero ban rates?
Blizzard’s Weekly Recall: New Hero Numbers chart reports average ban rates for the new heroes in 2026 Season 1 Ranked Role Queue matches, split by player region and covering all ranks. Its date window is February 16–23, 2026.
- Jetpack Cat: 66.5% in North America and 80.7% in South Korea. Blizzard identified her as the most-banned new hero in this snapshot.
- Domina: second among the new heroes. Her North American rate was 7.2 percentage points below Jetpack Cat’s in the same comparison.
- Anran: 8.2% in Europe.
- Emre: below 2% in every global region shown.
- Mizuki: named among the comparatively low-ban new additions, but Blizzard’s article text does not give a specific percentage.
The regional spread matters: Jetpack Cat’s reported rate was not one universal number. The figures describe one mode, rank scope, season, and week, so they should not be read as current rates or as results for Quick Play, another rank band, or every platform.

Blizzard also described how the rates changed over the period: Jetpack Cat’s bans surged at the start of the season, then stabilized and declined, while Domina’s rate rose consistently. Those trends are Blizzard’s account of the reported data, not a guarantee of how the heroes will fare in later weeks.
Do high ban rates mean a hero is overpowered?
No. A ban rate records player voting behavior within a defined group of matches. It can indicate which heroes players consider strong or frustrating, but it does not by itself establish that a hero is objectively overpowered or explain why players voted to ban them.

Blizzard said players might have been reacting to a perception that Domina was overpowered, even though her win rate did not support that view. The company also suggested her ban rate could fall as players learned clearer counters. These are Blizzard’s interpretations of the pattern, not independent proof of player motives or a balance verdict. The publisher says ban data can inform design work, but that “Hero Ban data alone would never dictate how Heroes are balanced.”
How does Overwatch 2’s Hero Ban system work?
Blizzard introduced Hero Bans to Competitive Play in Season 16. Each match has four bans—two per team—and players submit three ranked choices simultaneously, weighted at seven, five, and three votes. The system resolves bans from those votes under role limits and tie rules. Blizzard’s Hero Bans overview explains the system and its design goals.

How to check current ban rates
The February 2026 figures are a historical snapshot. For continuing statistics, use Blizzard’s official Hero Statistics page, which separates pick rate, win rate, and competitive ban rate. It offers filters including role, input, mode, tier, map, and region, and says statistics update with each patch. Check the patch context and match the filters before comparing results; live values can change.
Comparisons are most meaningful when the time window, mode, rank, platform or input, region, and hero group match. Blizzard’s earlier Hero Bans report illustrates why: in its separate Season 16 snapshot, Sombra’s reported rate was 85% on PC and 93% on consoles, and the article also described differences by rank and region. Those 2025 figures are historical context, not part of the 2026 new-hero comparison.
