Blizzard brought it back for a second window, December 16–29, 2025, but its announcements do not establish that the event or its cosmetics are available in 2026.
When did the Overwatch 2 Avatar collab start?
The original event began December 17, 2024, and ended December 30, 2024, according to Blizzard’s full collaboration announcement and Xbox Wire’s December 12, 2024 announcement coverage. Blizzard had first teased the crossover in its Season 14 announcement, saying more details would follow.
Which Overwatch heroes got Avatar skins?
The crossover paired six Overwatch heroes with characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender:
- Mei as Katara
- Zenyatta as Aang
- Orisa as Appa
- Venture as Toph
- Genji as Zuko
- Kiriko as Suki
Blizzard framed the event around the series’ elemental themes and teamwork. Its announcement also listed themed sprays, voice lines, and player icons among the rewards.

How did players earn the event rewards?
Blizzard listed Mei as Katara as an unlock from event challenges. The announcement names themed sprays, voice lines, and player icons as additional rewards, but it does not establish a current reward path or price for the cosmetics.
Did the Avatar collaboration return?
Yes. Blizzard announced a second run from December 16 through December 29, 2025, saying the celebrated crossover cosmetics and sprays would return. That announcement is available in its Season 20 update.

Can you still get the Avatar skins in Overwatch 2?
As of 2026, the announcements cited here do not say the collaboration is currently available, and they do not establish a present price or shop listing. The 2025 return confirms a past rerun, not ongoing availability. Check current in-game notices or Blizzard announcements for any new availability window.
