The Overwatch 2 x Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover is not upcoming: Blizzard’s original event ran December 17–30, 2024, and the company announced a return for December 16–29, 2025. Both windows have passed. The announcements confirm six themed hero skins and event rewards, but do not establish whether the cosmetics are available now or will return again.
When the Overwatch 2 Avatar crossover ran
Blizzard announced the collaboration on December 12, 2024, with an event window of December 17–30, 2024. Its announcement invited players to “gather your Gaang and summon the strength of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air in Overwatch 2.” (Blizzard Entertainment, December 12, 2024)
Blizzard later announced that the collaboration would return December 16–29, 2025, as part of its Season 20 announcement. That return window has also ended. (Blizzard Entertainment, Season 20 announcement)
Which Overwatch 2 heroes got Avatar skins?
The crossover adapted six characters from the animated series as Overwatch hero skins:

Blizzard presented the collaboration around the series’ four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. Its 2025 return announcement said the cosmetics and sprays would come back.
What players could earn or collect
During the original event, players could unlock Mei as Katara by completing event challenges. The event also offered themed sprays, voice lines, and player icons. The announcements document these as past event rewards and cosmetics; they do not confirm present shop inventory.

Are the Avatar skins available now?
The two Blizzard announcements establish the dates of the original event and its 2025 return, not availability after those windows or a future rerun. As of October 7, 2026, both announced events are over, and the sources do not establish whether any of the skins or other items can currently be obtained. Check the in-game shop or official Overwatch announcements for current availability rather than treating the historical event dates as an active offer.
