Overwatch: Reign of Talon Season 5 rewards are spread across the current Battle Pass, optional bundles, Mystery Madness and its weekly Event Passes, Unvaulted Passes, the Shadow Monarch collaboration, and Twitch Drops. The reliable way to claim them is to use the route tied to each reward: play or buy the relevant pass, complete the live event objectives, activate a Legacy Pass when progressing an older season, or link accounts and claim eligible Drops. Blizzard’s October 6, 2026 announcements name many rewards but do not publish a complete challenge-by-challenge inventory, so check the in-game event screens for exact objectives and milestones.

What is in the Season 5 Battle Pass?
Blizzard says the Season 5 Battle Pass tracks include five Legendary skins, three Epic skins, additional cosmetics and currencies, and up to 80 Mythic Prisms. The announced Legendary skins are Ghostly Belle Ashe, Jack O’ Ripper Soldier: 76, Ghost Bride Mei, Bat Empress Junker Queen, and Autumn Fox Zenyatta. The Epic skins are Skelly Bastion, Witching Hour Brigitte, and Spectral Shroud Symmetra. Blizzard’s announcement does not identify individual tier placements, so use the live pass to see where a particular item sits.

The revamped Swap Pool lets players choose which eligible Legendary Battle Pass skin to pursue first. Blizzard names Witch Kiriko, Streetwear Hazard, Magma Sombra, and Evening Wear Tracer among the returning options, but describes the list as only some of the available choices.

How to earn Mystery Madness rewards and Offerings
Mystery Madness challenges award rewards and Offerings. Blizzard identifies Ashe, Moira, and Winston as the heroes to whom Offerings can be directed. Each Offering pledged grants Battle Pass XP and advances the selected hero toward being summoned. The event is announced for October 6 through November 2, 2026, with weekly Event Passes and a milestone at the end of each week.

How the mode works
Mystery Madness is a 5v5 Open Queue mode with a guaranteed 1-2-2 role composition and best-of-three Control rounds. Players start with a random role and three hero choices, gain powers as they level, and choose powers on death or at a round transition. These are mode rules, not a checklist of challenge requirements.
Find the exact live objectives
Blizzard’s October 6 announcement and launch notes do not list every challenge requirement, reward name, or Event Pass milestone item. Open Overwatch’s live Challenges and Event Pass screens and follow the objectives and progress displayed there; do not assume an unlisted match count or reward threshold.

How Unvaulted Passes work
- From the home screen, open Battle Passes > Legacy Pass.
- Choose an eligible pass and make sure you own it. Blizzard says Legacy Seasons 1–15 passes are available to purchase in the shop under the Unvaulted Battle Pass tab, although some locked passes may arrive in a later season.
- Activate the pass in the Legacy Pass menu. Match XP counts toward it only after activation.
- Play matches to progress. One Unvaulted Pass can be active at a time, and it can progress alongside the current season pass. Progress already earned on a pass carries over.
Blizzard says an acquired Unvaulted Pass remains permanently available on the account. When an active pass is completed, it rolls over to the next available pass unless the player selects another. Not every original reward returns: Blizzard excludes Mythic skins, Mythic Prisms, Overwatch Coins, XP boosts, and player titles in the patch notes; its season announcement also excludes Prestige Titles and Mythic Hero and Weapon Skins.
How to unlock Shadow Monarch collaboration rewards
Blizzard gives the collaboration quest window as October 6–19, 2026. The announced pairings are Genji × Sung Jinwoo, Reaper × Igris, Anran × Cha Hae-In, Reinhardt × Iron, and Lifeweaver × Choi Jong-In. The announcement says players enter the collaboration and level up, but it does not provide a complete quest-milestone or reward table. Open the live collaboration event screen for the objectives and current progress details.

- Link your Battle.net and Twitch accounts.
- Watch streams in the Overwatch Twitch category until you reach a listed threshold.
- Claim each earned Drop on Twitch.
Blizzard names a PC or Mac web browser and the Twitch Android or iOS app as supported options for earning and claiming these Drops. Twitch apps on consoles and TV apps do not support it. A hero does not need to be unlocked to receive that hero’s Drop, but the cosmetic cannot be accessed until the hero is unlocked. The campaign post says earned Drops expire seven days after claim if no Battle.net account is linked; it also says Drops must be claimed within 24 hours after the promotion ends. Lootbox contents are not specified for this campaign, so a Lootbox should not be treated as a promise of a particular cosmetic.
Check the campaign window and region
Blizzard’s official post conflicts on the campaign start date: its opening says October 6 at 11 a.m. PT, while its FAQ says October 16. It gives an end time of November 2 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Check the live Twitch Drops campaign listing for the active window rather than relying on either start date in the post.
The post lists participating regions as North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Confirm eligibility in the live campaign listing for your account and region.
Which route should you choose?
- Want the named Season 5 skins? Check the current Battle Pass and Swap Pool. Buy a bundle only if you specifically want its listed contents.
- Want event progression rewards? Play Mystery Madness, complete the objectives shown in the live Challenges/Event Pass screens, and pledge Offerings to a hero.
- Want rewards from an earlier pass? Own and activate that Unvaulted Pass from the Legacy Pass menu, then earn match XP.
- Want collaboration cosmetics? Check the collaboration event screen during its stated quest window for the current objectives and rewards.
- Want Drops without playing? Link accounts, watch on a supported device, and claim Drops before the campaign’s claim deadline.
Blizzard’s October 6, 2026 patch notes say that version will not be updated. Event windows, shop listings, regional availability, and live objectives can change, so the game’s current screens and campaign listing are the authoritative place to verify what remains available.
