Catch Hypnotic Moray with Glow Worms in cave water in Kilima Valley or Bahari Bay. It is available any time of day, so you do not need to wait for a particular time window. The Palia Wiki also lists The Underground as a location, while the Palia Database names Bahari Bay Cave and Water Temple.
How to catch Hypnotic Moray
- Equip Glow Worms as bait; both references list them for Hypnotic Moray.
- Fish in cave water in Kilima Valley or Bahari Bay. The Palia Database specifically names Bahari Bay Cave and Water Temple; the Palia Wiki additionally lists The Underground.
- Fish whenever convenient. The wiki says any time of day, and the database says any time and any weather.
These details come from player-maintained references, not developer documentation: the community-run Palia Wiki and the Palia Database, whose cited entry uses game-data version 0.207.0 and was updated September 29, 2026. Neither source promises a catch rate or a number of casts, so Glow Worms and the listed locations are guidance rather than a guarantee.
Rarity and sell value
The Palia Wiki classifies Hypnotic Moray as Rare and lists its sell value as 420 Gold, or 630 Gold for star quality. The Palia Database independently lists a sell price of 420. These are in-game values.
What Hypnotic Moray is used for
Reference lists differ on progression and crafting uses. The Palia Wiki names the Creatures of the Abyss Bundle and Mysterious Brew, plus general “Any Fish” cooking recipes, fishing accomplishments, and star-quality fish decor. The Database lists Tamala’s Mysterious Potion Brew, Vault of the Roots, and the quests Mysterious Brew, Something Fishy, and That Fishy Feeling; it also lists Fish Fillet, Grilled Fish, Fish Stew, Tuning Fork, and Advanced Angler’s Kit.

If you need the fish for a particular quest, bundle, or recipe, check that requirement in game, since the two references do not give identical lists. The wiki says a star-quality Hypnotic Moray can be placed as decor and lists an aquarium size of 7×11.
