Buy it from the Foraging Guild Store
Once you reach Foraging Level 10, the Foraging Guild Store sells Dragon’s Beard Peat for 8 Foraging Medals. This gives you a direct alternative to searching the Bahari Bay locations.

The Palia Wiki also lists quest rewards, rummage piles, and treasure chests as possible sources. These are opportunities, not guaranteed drops; the available item information does not state their odds.
Should you keep Dragon’s Beard Peat?
It has several crafting and progression uses, so consider saving some before selling or giving it away. The item is required for the main quest Fit for a Watcher, where you craft a decor item, and can be selected for the daily quest Foraging Finds when it asks for a rare gatherable.

Crafting recipes
Dragon’s Beard Peat is used to craft Honey Lure and Phoenix Firework, as well as furniture. The Palia Wiki lists recipes including Bellflower drapes, Dragontide planters and wall fan, Elderwood Mossy Rug, Investigator furniture, Lily Rattan furniture, Moonstruck Fungi Planter, Porcelain Pitcher, and Spa Day Scent Tray. It is not used in any Bundles, according to the item entry.
Gifts and accomplishments
The item entry lists Ashura, Chayne, Einar, Elouisa, and Tau as villagers who like Dragon’s Beard Peat. It also counts toward two accomplishments. Weekly wants can change, so check the current in-game request or live item page rather than assuming a villager wants it this week.

Dragon’s Beard Peat is classified as rare and has a basic value of 60 Gold. Its in-game description, reproduced by the Palia Wiki, reads: “Dragon’s Beard Peat is a rare, alchemical, moss named for its color, which resembles Maji’s.”
These mechanics are listed by the community-run Palia Wiki, not a developer announcement. Its item page reported build 0.207, while Palia Gaming Tools’ item search result reported version 0.207.0.
