Palworld server owners can administer a dedicated server from in-game chat after setting an AdminPassword. Authenticate with /AdminPassword <password>, use /ShowPlayers to find a player’s SteamID, and then run moderation, teleport, save, broadcast, or shutdown commands. The official Palworld Server Guide lists these commands for Version 1.0.4.

How Palworld admin commands work
Palworld’s administrator commands are chat commands for managing a dedicated server. Pocketpair’s official guide describes them as operations that help manage the server. They can affect your own access, one connected player, every player, or the saved world, so use the least disruptive command that solves the problem.

- In-game chat: press Enter, type the command with its leading slash, and submit it.
- A hosting web console: authenticate with the server’s Admin/RCon password, then enter the command without the leading slash. For example, enter
save, not/save.
The web-console behavior is documented in a hosting implementation guide updated June 10, 2026. Console labels and file locations can differ by host, but the command names and arguments remain those in the official table.
Become an administrator on a dedicated server
1. Set the password in the server configuration
The AdminPassword must already be set in the configuration file before an admin command can be executed. On a dedicated installation, edit the server’s PalWorldSettings.ini file and set the administrative password there. Managed hosts normally expose this file through a configuration editor or file manager. Use a strong password and do not post it in public chat, screenshots, logs, or support tickets.

2. Authenticate after joining
- Join the Palworld server with an account that should have administrative access.
- Press Enter to open chat.
- Type
/AdminPassword <password>, replacing the placeholder with the exact password configured inPalWorldSettings.ini. - Submit the command. You can now run the administrator commands listed below from chat.
Authentication is a server-side privilege step; simply being the server owner, hosting-machine administrator, or character owner does not replace it. If you use a web console, authenticate with the Admin/RCon password through that console instead of sending the slash command as ordinary chat.

The following syntax follows Pocketpair’s official command table. Square brackets indicate an optional value; angle brackets indicate a value you must replace.

Find a player’s SteamID
Commands that target a player require the identifier shown by the server, not a display name. After authenticating, run:
/ShowPlayers
Read the connected-player information and copy the SteamID belonging to the intended player. Check the identifier carefully before using a kick, ban, or teleport command; a display name can be similar to another player’s, while the identifier is what the command accepts.

Moderate players safely
Kick a player for a temporary removal
Use a kick when you need to remove someone from the current session without imposing a ban:
/KickPlayer <SteamID>
A kick affects one connected player. It is the appropriate first step for a short disruption, a mistaken connection, or a warning that does not justify a ban. Because the player may reconnect, use a ban when continued access is the issue.

After obtaining the correct SteamID, issue:
/BanPlayer <SteamID>
To reverse that ban later, issue:
/UnBanPlayer <SteamID>
Keep a private record of the identifier and the reason for a ban so that an unban request can be matched to the correct account. Never substitute a name for the SteamID.
Teleportation commands
Move yourself to another player
Run:
/TeleportToPlayer <SteamID>
This changes your character’s location to the selected connected player. It is useful when an owner needs to inspect a player’s location or respond quickly to an incident.

Bring a player to you
Run:
/TeleportToMe <SteamID>
This changes the target player’s location. Tell players before using it during normal play, because an unexpected teleport can interrupt exploration or combat. Neither teleport command is a moderation substitute: use kick or ban when the objective is removal.
Broadcast notices and inspect the server
Send a server-wide message
Use:
/Broadcast <MessageText>
Broadcasts are suited to restart warnings, event announcements, maintenance notices, or instructions that every connected player needs. Include the relevant time or delay in your message when planning downtime.

/ShowPlayers displays connected-player information and the identifiers needed by player-targeted commands. /Info displays server information. Both are observational commands, so they are good first checks when diagnosing a moderation or connection issue.
Save, schedule, or stop the server
Save world data before maintenance
Run:
/Save
The official workflow recommends saving before maintenance. This is a manual world-data save and should be part of a planned shutdown routine rather than an afterthought.

Use a scheduled shutdown for planned downtime
Run the command with a delay, a message, or both:
/Shutdown [Seconds] [MessageText]
The delay and message are optional. A scheduled shutdown lets players see a notice and gives them time to stop activity and leave safely. For example, a message can identify the maintenance window while the seconds value controls how long the server remains available.

Reserve forced exit for emergencies
Run:
/DoExit
This force-stops the server. It is not the scheduled-shutdown workflow: it does not provide the same delay-and-notification process. Use it only when an immediate stop is necessary, and prefer /Save followed by /Shutdown for routine maintenance.
Spectator mode
After admin authentication, run:
/ToggleSpectate
This switches your account to spectator mode. Pocketpair’s official instructions say the backslash key changes back. If the mode does not change, confirm that the account authenticated successfully and that you entered the command in the game chat rather than a console that requires a different command format.

The command itself is not changed by the interface; only authentication and the slash convention differ. If a web console rejects a slash-prefixed command, remove the slash before trying again.

Troubleshooting checklist
“Unknown command” or no response
- Confirm you are using an administrator-authenticated session.
- In chat, include the leading slash; in a web console, omit it.
- Check capitalization and spelling against the official syntax.
- For a player command, replace
<SteamID>with the actual identifier rather than leaving the placeholder.
Authentication fails
- Verify that
AdminPasswordwas set inPalWorldSettings.inibefore attempting the command. - Use the exact configured password, including capitalization and punctuation.
- If the configuration was just changed, follow the server host’s procedure for applying configuration changes before trying again.
The wrong player is affected
Run /ShowPlayers again and compare the complete SteamID. Do not rely on a display name, especially when several players have similar names. For a ban or teleport, pause and verify the identifier before submitting.

Players did not receive enough warning
Use /Broadcast before a planned shutdown, then use /Shutdown with a delay and message. Do not replace that sequence with /DoExit unless an immediate stop is required.
Recommended owner workflow
- Set and protect
AdminPasswordinPalWorldSettings.ini. - Authenticate with
/AdminPassword <password>after joining, or authenticate in the web console. - Run
/ShowPlayerswhen a command needs a target SteamID. - Choose the narrowest action: broadcast for information, kick for temporary removal, ban for continued exclusion, or teleport for location management.
- Run
/Savebefore planned maintenance. - Announce downtime with
/Broadcast, then use/Shutdown [Seconds] [MessageText]. - Use
/DoExitonly for a forced stop.
Pocketpair’s published command list is identified as Version 1.0.4. Because command availability and behavior can change in later Palworld server releases, compare your installed server version with the current official guide before relying on a command during a live event or maintenance window.
