Palworld left Early Access in July 2026. Pocketpair’s January 2025 roadmap is now a record of planned features, not a current schedule: it listed crossplay, Pal transfers, the World Tree, new content and quality improvements without assigning dates. Pocketpair has since said version 1.1 is coming with a requested feature, but has not identified that feature or announced a release date in the cited interview.
When did Palworld leave Early Access?
Pocketpair announced that Palworld’s version 1.0 release would arrive on July 10, 2026, while Steam lists the full release as July 9, 2026. The sources give different dates by one calendar day and do not explain the discrepancy, so each date should be attributed to its source rather than treated as a single confirmed date. Pocketpair’s announcement and the Steam listing establish that the Early Access period is over.
What was on the January 2025 roadmap?
Pocketpair published the roadmap on January 19, 2025, while saying development would continue as the studio prepared for official release. It was a feature-and-improvement list, not a dated delivery calendar: no individual bullet had a promised launch date. Pocketpair’s roadmap announcement included:
- Co-op crossplay.
- World transfers for Pals.
- The World Tree and an ending scenario.
- More ways to strengthen and improve Pals.
- New content, including Pals and technologies.
- Game collaborations, including Terraria.
- Improvements to world object placement and base Pals.
- Optimization and user-experience improvements.
These were announced plans, not a completion checklist. Pocketpair’s June 2026 version 1.0 announcement highlighted new Pals, regions, a new threat and the World Tree, but it does not account for every item on the earlier list. The 1.0 announcement connects the World Tree to that release period; it is not a feature-by-feature record of everything completed.

What is confirmed about the Palworld 1.1 update?
Pocketpair communications and publishing lead John Buckley said version 1.1 was coming and would include a substantial, specific feature that players had requested. In a GamesRadar+ interview after Gamescom 2026, he did not name the feature or give a release date. He also said the patch would not be another overhaul on the scale of version 1.0. The interview report does not establish which fan-requested feature is planned, so guesses based on the old roadmap or community requests should not be mistaken for confirmation.
Does version 1.0 finish Palworld’s story?
Buckley characterized version 1.0 as a beginning rather than a definitive end to the narrative, calling it a “soft prologue.” In the GamesRadar+ interview after Gamescom 2026, he said: “Internally, and I said it yesterday so I’m fine saying it, we’re calling 1.0 kind of a soft prologue.” That signals that the story continues, but it does not provide a dated schedule for future chapters or updates. GamesRadar+ reported Buckley’s comment.

How long will Palworld receive major updates?
Buckley cautioned against expecting a decade of continuous, massive additions. He cited engine limitations, the game’s linear progression and the risk that continued expansion could make Palworld too large or daunting for newer and casual players. He did not rule out a possible “Palworld 2.0,” but described it as a possibility, not an announced sequel. His comments to GamesRadar+ are a description of constraints and possibilities, not a long-term roadmap.

Pocketpair marked the second anniversary of Palworld’s Early Access launch on January 19, 2026. The studio’s anniversary announcement provides that milestone. Buckley also estimated that the pre-1.0 game offered 65 levels and 20–30 hours of gameplay “at a bare minimum”; that is his estimate as reported by GamesRadar+, not a measured average playtime or a guarantee for every player. GamesRadar+ reported the estimate.
