To send Pals on expeditions in Palworld, build a Pal Expedition Station, unlock destinations by defeating tower bosses, then dispatch eligible Palbox Pals that meet the route’s elemental quota and recommended firepower. Expeditions run on a timer and return resources; the Pals you send are unavailable for other work until they come back.

An older Dot Esports guide gives a different unlock level and recipe, so use the current technology menu and recipe shown in your game rather than relying on that older instruction. Pocketpair’s dedicated-server documentation labels its page version 1.0.4 and includes “Pal Expedition Station” among technology IDs, but it does not confirm the station’s level, recipe, or expedition rewards: Pocketpair dedicated-server documentation.
How to dispatch Pals
- Build the Pal Expedition Station at your base.
- Open the station and choose an unlocked destination. The in-game menu is the best guide to route names because fan databases do not always use the same names.
- Check the destination’s elemental quota, recommended firepower, and duration.
- Select eligible Pals from the Palbox until the roster meets the elemental requirement and gets as close as practical to the recommended firepower. Auto-assign prioritizes high-firepower Pals, according to PalworldCenter.
- Start the expedition. The station shows the mission timer; collect the resulting rewards when it finishes.
Expeditions can draw up to 100 eligible Pals from the Palbox. Pals in your party or assigned as base workers cannot be dispatched. A dispatched Pal cannot work at your base, join your party, fight, or be condensed until it returns. Current references say each base can run its own dispatch, though PalworldCenter lists one expedition station per base.

How expedition firepower works
The game-data references give this calculation for an individual Pal: (floor(HP ÷ 5) + Attack + Defense) × (condensation rank + 1)². A roster’s firepower is the figure to compare with the route’s displayed recommendation. Passive skills do not add firepower.
Treat the destination’s recommended total as the practical target for aiming at full rewards. An underpowered team may return less; stronger teams can improve outcomes and may affect mission timing. The references do not establish one universal reward formula, so the displayed route information should take precedence over claims that a particular amount above the target guarantees a fixed bonus or shorter timer.

Pick the route that matches the bottleneck
- Need Pure Quartz? Compare the snowlands route’s 20-Ice-Pal quota and 286,000 target with your available roster.
- Need Chromite? Feybreak rewards it, but asks for 20 Dark Pals and 476,000 firepower.
- Need Crude Oil? Moonflower is the listed route example; prepare 20 Water Pals and a 375,000 target.
- Advancing at Sunreach? Azure Covenant is the example route for Soralite and Coralum Ore, with a Dragon quota and 589,000 target.
- Chasing late progression rewards? World Tree accepts any Pals in the cited reference table and lists Ancient Civilization Cores and other advanced materials.
Hard destinations unlock after the corresponding hard-mode tower victories. PalworldCenter lists a two-hour duration and a 1,600,000 recommended firepower target for hard destinations, with a higher threshold for World Tree Hard.

Version-sensitive details
World Tree Holy Water appears in current route references as an expedition reward, and an unofficial account of version 1.0.4 reports it was added to the reward pool. Because this is version-specific information from an unofficial source, check the in-game reward display for the version you are playing.
Release-status wording also differs by source: Pocketpair’s news page says, “Palworld is currently an Early Access game,” while fan databases describe expedition data as 1.0. That difference does not change the station and route steps above, but it is a reason to rely on the current in-game menu for live mechanics: Pocketpair news.
