A Palworld guild groups players and provides membership-management controls. The number of bases a guild can have is controlled by a world or server setting: the official dedicated-server guide lists a default of 4 and a maximum of 10. Those figures are configuration values, not a guarantee that every world uses them.
What a guild does in Palworld
A guild is a player group with membership administration. Pocketpair’s official guild-system announcement introduced the feature and listed controls to disband a guild, change its name or leader, and promote or demote members. That announcement documents the system’s introduction and the controls listed at that time; it is not a complete guide to every current permission or sharing rule.
Joining the same guild is most relevant when friends want to manage a group together. The available official material does not establish the full current rules for shared inventories, Pal ownership, individual progression, or what happens to a player’s assets when leaving a guild. Do not assume guild membership makes every resource or base universally shared.
How to join a friend’s guild
According to the community Palworld Wiki.gg guild guide, joining and inviting options appear when players approach one another. Treat this as secondary guidance: the official sources cited here do not independently confirm the current menu labels or exact interaction steps, which may vary by game version.

- Check for the reported join or invite option and follow the in-game prompt.
- If the option is unavailable or joining is refused, check whether an existing Palbox would cause the guild to exceed its configured base allowance.
The wiki reports that a player may be blocked from joining when their existing Palbox would push the guild over its base limit. The official sources do not confirm the current details of this restriction or explain all consequences of changing guilds, so check the game’s prompt and the host’s settings rather than assuming an old guide describes every current case.

The official dedicated-server configuration reference lists BaseCampMaxNumInGuild as the maximum number of bases per guild. It documents a default of 4 and a maximum of 10. The same guide warns that raising the value increases system load.

These are documented server-configuration values, not proof that a particular world is currently set to four bases. The host’s configuration and the game/server build determine what applies. A guild’s allowance is shared across the group, so players should agree how to use that capacity if they intend to keep separate bases.

The official configuration guide says dedicated-server settings are managed in PalWorldSettings.ini. It specifically warns that editing DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini does not apply changes. The configuration documentation does not support platform-specific file navigation here, so consult the guide for the appropriate setup for your server.

- Open the official configuration parameters guide and locate
BaseCampMaxNumInGuild. - Edit the applicable
PalWorldSettings.inisetting, keeping the value within the documented maximum of 10. - Do not put the change in
DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini; the guide says changes there will not apply. - Account for the guide’s warning that a higher base limit increases system load, and verify the setting against your server’s current build and configuration.
