Unlock Mega Sphere technology at level 14, then craft the spheres or obtain them through other in-game routes. Use one by throwing it at a wild Pal to attempt a capture; weaken the target and check the capture chance shown in your game before you throw.
How to unlock and craft Mega Spheres
Mega Sphere technology becomes available at Technology level 14 and costs 2 Technology points to unlock, according to the community wiki’s Mega Sphere listing. After unlocking it, craft the item at a crafting station available in your current progression.
For Palworld 1.0 build 24088745, the Palworld.tools database lists this recipe for one Mega Sphere: 1 Paldium Fragment, 1 Ingot, 3 Wood, and 3 Stone. That dataset was updated July 13, 2026. The community wiki listing instead gives 5 Wood and 5 Stone, so recipe counts may differ by game version or source. Follow the recipe displayed in your own Technology or crafting interface if it does not match the 1.0 database entry. Palworld.tools’ Mega Sphere entry identifies its data as community-maintained and says it is not affiliated with Pocketpair.
Other ways to obtain Mega Spheres
Crafting is not the only possible source. Community databases list Mega Spheres as ground finds, merchant purchases, drops, and loot. The Palworld.tools item database also indexes dungeon, expedition, fishing-salvage, and chest routes. The community wiki additionally reports that a four-star Vixy assigned to a Ranch can produce them. These are listed possibilities, not guarantees that every route will be available or convenient at every stage of your playthrough.

How to use a Mega Sphere
- Find a wild Pal you want to capture.
- Weaken it to improve your chances, while avoiding defeating it.
- Check the capture chance displayed by your game, then throw the Mega Sphere at the Pal to attempt the capture.
The community wiki lists Mega Sphere Capture Power as 14. Capture success also depends on the target’s remaining health and situational bonuses, so a throw is never a guaranteed capture. The displayed chance is the most useful guide for your current encounter.
When to choose a Mega Sphere
Mega Sphere is a middle-tier option: higher-tier spheres have greater Capture Power. There is no verified universal Pal-level cutoff for when you should switch tiers. Compare the sphere you have with the capture chance your game displays for the specific Pal, and use a stronger sphere when you want a better chance and can spare it. The community databases establish a Capture Power value for Mega Sphere, but not a fully verified current comparison table covering every tier.
