If PANICORE crashes on startup, goes black after the intro, or closes after a few minutes, try the eight targeted steps below. They come from a developer troubleshooting post dated June 14, 2024; they are suggestions, not guaranteed fixes. Start with the steps that match your symptom, and keep any error message for support if the crashes continue.
1. Check antivirus if PANICORE closes after a few minutes
If the game launches but exits after a short time, check whether your antivirus quarantined or blocked a PANICORE file. Developer account MysteryLol suggested this possibility in the pinned troubleshooting post: “This is probably happening due to antivirus programs having false positives on Panicore. Try adding Panicore to exceptions and try launching again!”
Review your antivirus protection history and add an exception for PANICORE only if you find a relevant block or trust the game file. Do not turn off antivirus protection wholesale. Then try launching the game again.
2. Update or roll back your drivers
For startup crashes or a black screen after the “made by two devs” intro, the developer recommends updating your graphics driver and other available hardware drivers. Get graphics drivers from your GPU maker’s official website or software. Avoid third-party driver-updater utilities.

If updating does not help, the developer also suggests trying an older graphics driver. Change one driver at a time so you can tell whether the change affects the crash.
3. Install available Windows updates
Open Windows Update, check for updates, and install those available for your PC. Restart Windows if prompted, then try PANICORE again.

4. Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
The developer recommends installing the current Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, noting that the x64 version is usually the one to use. Download it from Microsoft’s supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads. Microsoft updates these packages, so use the current official page rather than an old installer link.
5. Verify PANICORE’s files in Steam
- In your Steam Library, right-click PANICORE and choose Properties.
- Choose Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files and let Steam complete the check.
- Launch the game again.
Verification checks the installed files and may reacquire a missing or damaged file; it does not diagnose every cause of a crash.

6. Try launching with Discord closed
Completely close Discord, including its system-tray process, and then launch PANICORE. This is a troubleshooting test recommended by the developer, not evidence that Discord causes every crash.
7. Try the -ngxdisable launch option
The developer suggests testing the launch option -ngxdisable. In Steam, open PANICORE’s Properties and enter it in the Launch Options field. Try launching the game; remove the option if it makes no difference or causes another problem. The developer’s post does not explain exactly what component this option disables, so treat it as a test rather than a diagnosis.

8. Lower resolution only for a video-memory error
A player in the troubleshooting thread reported an “Out of video memory” error. For that specific message, the error text recommends lowering the resolution and closing other running applications. This is relevant when the error points to video memory; it is not a universal fix for crashes with different symptoms.

Steam publishes the following minimum and recommended specifications. They help you identify whether your PC is below the listed configuration, but meeting them does not guarantee crash-free play or pinpoint a particular crash.

These are the requirements published on PANICORE’s Steam store page, not measured crash thresholds. The listed configurations do not establish why a specific PC is crashing.
If PANICORE still crashes
The developer’s post is dated June 14, 2024, and players in its replies also described crashes that remained unresolved. There is no established crash rate or success rate for these steps. If the problem persists, contact ZTEK Studio at [email protected]. Include the exact error text, your PC specifications, and which steps you tried; that gives support useful details without assuming the cause.
