It is not a verified guide to every ending: choices can open different branches, and the detailed route steps below come from a third-party achievement walkthrough rather than an official guide.
How progression and route switching work
PARANORMASIGHT is a branching 2D visual novel set in Honjo, in Tokyo’s Sumida ward, during the Showa period (1926–89). Its three-day mystery follows several people caught up in the Seven Mysteries and the Rite of Resurrection. Square Enix describes the game as a supernatural mystery adventure, while Nintendo’s description highlights its connected investigations, multiple points of view, clue gathering, conversation, and curse strategy. Square Enix’s official game site and Nintendo’s product description provide the publisher details.
Use this loop in each scene
- Examine the people, surroundings, and objects the scene makes available. Relevant details can add clues or reveal further events.
- Speak with each character and work through the available conversation topics. When new options appear, use the game’s Think or Recall prompts where appropriate.
- Check the Story Chart for open events. Resume a named event or move to another available character chapter when the current route has no further step.
- When another route reveals useful information, return to the suspended scene and try the newly available dialogue or action. A route stopping temporarily is part of the branching structure, not necessarily a bug.
Some choices and curse actions lead to failure states or alternate branches. Replaying a scene can expose a different outcome; do not assume every apparent dead end means the story is over. A community-maintained Story Chart reference also notes that chapter availability depends on choices and progression.
Opening investigation: Shogo Okiie’s prologue
Spoilers begin here. The sequence below follows the third-party Gameplay.tips achievement walkthrough, published March 9, 2023. It is not an official guide, and the steps have not been independently verified across platforms or patches.

Investigate the opening scene
In the opening sequence, examine the girl’s body, the surroundings, and the telephone booth. Talk to Yoko and use Recall; look in the direction indicated during the flashback, then examine Yoko and the fallen object. Find and question the shadowy figure. Exhaust the available conversation options, and use Think or Recall if new choices appear.
South Warigesui Street and the bridges
The guide treats an unsuccessful attempt at the South Warigesui Street curse sequence as a branch to revisit, not a permanent stop. After finding a lighter at Shumoku Bridge, return to the darkness and try the newly enabled action. It then directs Shogo to investigate Ho’onji Bridge, Midoricho Park, Komagata High School, the Former Yasuda Gardens, and Ryogoku Bridge. At each location, examine the scene and pursue the available conversations.

Return through the Story Chart
Once the Story Chart becomes available, the walkthrough returns to the Kinshibori Park event. Choose Resume at “Something’s happening to Yoko…” and continue through the newly opened event to complete the prologue.
Switching between Harue, Tetsuo, and Yakko
The routes intersect, so a character’s chapter may need information that another character uncovers. In the walkthrough’s example, suspend Harue Shigima’s investigation when it reaches a temporary stop, advance Tetsuo Tsutsumi’s route, then resume Harue from the saved bridge conversation. The guide also progresses through Yakko Sakazaki’s school scenes, where conversation choices matter.

For any route, follow the same practical rule: save your place by suspending, progress an available character event, then return to the earlier scene when the Story Chart or new dialogue gives you a reason to do so. The third-party walkthrough includes specific response choices and school and household investigations, but those branches can reveal story outcomes; consult its chapter sequence only if you want that level of spoiler detail.
Spoiler puzzle solution: removing the curse seal
The Gameplay.tips walkthrough’s late-game sequence returns to Tetsuo’s Conclusion scene. Speak to Ayame about being taken hostage, then address Mio. For the seal-removal puzzle, it gives this order:

The same guide’s finale route begins at Shogo’s Kinshibori Park (Part 3). After meeting Takumi, inspect the distant curse echo, speak to Takumi, and then touch the echo. In the resulting Cleansing scene, select “The Beckoning Light,” enter “Shogo,” and then enter the name you gave the Storyteller at the beginning.

Square Enix Japan lists digital versions for Nintendo Switch, Steam, iOS, and Android; regional availability can differ. Nintendo UK lists the Switch version as download software, released March 9, 2023, and says the downloaded game can be played through to the end without additional purchases. Square Enix’s US launch announcement names Switch and Steam. Check the relevant regional storefront for current availability. Steam lists the game as single-player and includes a mature-content notice for violence and bloodshed; storefront metadata and access requirements can change. Steam’s listing has the current storefront details.
