When did The Third Edict launch?
Grinding Gear Games announced that players could access the update at 1 p.m. PDT on August 29, 2025. Its FAQ gives the equivalent as 4 p.m. EDT. Grinding Gear Games’ announcement and official FAQ document the launch timing.

What did Act Four add?
Act Four became the next chapter in Path of Exile 2’s campaign. Xbox UK’s 2025 coverage says the act brings over 100 new monster varieties; that wording does not mean a verified count of wholly unique species. The official reveal also promoted new bosses as part of the update.
The reveal presented The Third Edict as a broader content update, not just a campaign chapter: it also announced balance changes, a new trade system and the Rise of the Abyssal league. Which platforms received the update?
Grinding Gear Games’ FAQ listed the standalone PC client, Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 as launch platforms. The announcement does not establish differences in performance, pricing or feature parity between them.

What happened to characters already in the campaign?
At launch, the FAQ said characters who had not reached endgame and were on Cruel difficulty would be moved to the end of Act Three, where they could continue into Act Four. This describes the launch transition and should not be treated as current, account-specific support guidance; consult Grinding Gear Games’ current support information for help with a particular character.
