A September 2021 Prima Games guide lists seven options and their player-character gender restrictions; later content adds romance material, including an Ulbrig chain listed by the WotR Database. Treat that early list as a starting point, not a complete roster for every version and DLC.
Who can you romance in Wrath of the Righteous?
The table reflects the options and eligibility in Prima Games’ September 4, 2021 guide. Queen Galfrey appears in a separate section of that guide. It is not a verified, exhaustive list of all romance content added later.

Owlcat says two companions do not have romance routes by design: Woljif was written in a younger-brother role, while Nenio is asexual. Their presence in the party does not imply a romance branch is available.
How romance progression works
Owlcat distinguishes opening a possible romance branch from actually being in a relationship. A branch may unlock through a particular interaction, a companion taking the initiative, or choices that character finds appealing. Some routes can turn on one moment; others depend on choices accumulating over time. Later dialogue, events, and story progression determine whether the route continues.

There is no universal approval meter you need to fill. Owlcat contrasts Wrath of the Righteous with Kingmaker: “For example, Kingmaker used ‘affinity counters’ and required that you take the character you romance into your party a lot, while Wrath of the Righteous did not.” The WotR Database likewise describes the system as driven by events and choices rather than a numeric approval score.
How to start and continue a route
- Talk to companions. Choose dialogue options that reflect interest where appropriate, and pay attention to how each character responds. A promising interaction can open a branch, but it does not confirm a relationship.
- Follow personal quests and story events. Companion quests and later conversations can advance or affect a route. Romance scenes may occur at camp or base as well as during personal quests; timing and triggers differ by character.
- Return to companions as the story progresses. Check for new conversations after major events rather than expecting one conversation to complete a romance.
- Respond consistently, without assuming every character wants the same approach. The routes depend on character-specific preferences and flags. The available sources do not establish a complete set of required dialogue choices or endings for every route.
Prima Games gives examples rather than a full walkthrough: its Arueshalae coverage describes a route opportunity beginning with her rescue in Drezen’s prison, while its Daeran coverage mentions accepting his advances, flowers, and a “not a date” scene. These examples can orient you, but they are not a comprehensive checklist of prerequisites.

Can you pursue more than one romance?
You can have multiple romance branches in progress, but that does not mean every combination can continue indefinitely. Owlcat describes a jealousy event in the last third of the game that can force a choice between romances. The developer also says some characters accept polyamorous relationships, so the outcome depends on the characters involved rather than a single rule that applies to every pairing.

Owlcat describes A Dance of Masks as the sixth and final premium DLC in Season Pass 2 and says it adds a new romantic event with every romanceable companion. Access to that content depends on owning the relevant DLC on the platform you play. The announcement does not provide a complete current romance roster or a route-by-route guide.
Ulbrig is another reason not to treat the 2021 list as exhaustive: the WotR Database lists an Ulbrig romance chain and identifies it as DLC content. The sources cited here do not establish all of Ulbrig’s eligibility requirements or route steps, so check the applicable DLC and in-game version for those specifics.
