Pax Dei entered Steam Early Access on June 18, 2024. Mainframe Industries said the PC game would be available through Steam or its dedicated launcher; the announcement described it then as an unfinished Alpha project shaped with player feedback.
What Mainframe announced
Mainframe Industries framed Early Access as a community-supported stage of development, not a finished-game launch. The team said revenue from the period would be reinvested in development and that player feedback would help shape the final game. In its announcement, the Mainframe Team wrote: “Pax Dei will only exist with the support of its players,” and said, “Your feedback during Early Access will be invaluable in shaping the final game.” Read the announcement.

Those caveats describe the game at its 2024 launch: Mainframe called it still in Alpha, heavily in development, and not feature-complete. They should not be read as a description of its current state.
Early Access is a past phase
The June 18 date is a historical milestone, rather than a description of Pax Dei’s present release stage. The official site later published a page titled “Pax Dei 1.0 – Schedule and details,” which discusses the end of Early Access and says there would be no more wipes after the 1.0 release. See the 1.0 schedule and details.
