PEAK’s final biome update was released on August 11, 2026, adding the Gloom and Citadel variant biomes. Landfall now describes it as the game’s final major update, though the studio says bug fixes and maintenance will continue.
When did the new PEAK update come out?
The update arrived on August 11, 2026. PEAK Team announced the date on August 6 in its official Steam post, which said the update was “Dropping August 11th!” Since that date has passed, the update is no longer upcoming.
What did the final biome update add?
The release introduced Gloom and the Citadel as variant biomes. The announcement said they would cycle with Caldera and the Kiln, adding them to the game’s biome rotation.
Does “final major update” mean PEAK is no longer supported?
No. Landfall’s FAQ says PEAK has received its final major update with the release of Citadel and Gloom, but that the team will continue providing bug fixes and maintenance until it is satisfied with the game’s stability. That distinguishes major content releases from ongoing maintenance.

What changed after the August release?
A third-party update-history page lists patch 2.04.a, dated September 2, 2026. Its entry says Caldera and the Kiln returned to the map rotation with additional changes. This is a later patch-history entry, not evidence that the game has received no subsequent maintenance patches. See the PEAK update history for that entry.

Landfall says console ports are in progress and that PEAK is intended to support cross-platform play. Its FAQ does not provide a console release date, so there is no confirmed launch date to report.
