There is no single objectively best Social Link in Persona 3 Reload: the right priority depends on whether you value a character’s story, efficient rank-ups, or completing as many links as possible. For a practical first playthrough, prioritize links with narrow schedules, begin prerequisite links early, and use open time for a ready-to-rank link before choosing an activity that can wait.
How to choose the best Social Links for your playthrough
Social Links advance by spending time with characters and choosing dialogue responses. Raising a link also grants bonus experience when you fuse Personas of its Arcana. Since free time is limited, a useful priority order is based on availability and readiness—not a universal ranking of characters’ stories.
- Protect limited schedule windows. School links are unavailable during vacations, and the schedule reference says most are unavailable during the week before exams. When a school link is available and ready to advance, it may be a better use of that afternoon than an activity you can do on another day.
- Start prerequisites early. Some links require social-stat levels, story progress, or ranks in other links. Starting a prerequisite promptly can prevent a dependent route from opening late.
- Use ready-to-rank opportunities. Check whether the next hangout will advance the link. If it will not, consider another available link or a social-stat activity instead.
- Choose story favorites deliberately. If a character’s story matters more to you than maximizing link count, put that preference ahead of an efficiency ranking. The available scheduling evidence does not establish an objective best story.
Which Social Link should I start first in Persona 3 Reload?
Start with an available link whose schedule is restrictive or that unlocks a link you want later. There is no single first link that fits every calendar: opening conditions, days, locations, and prerequisites differ. Use the in-game calendar for the current date, then compare it with a detailed route reference such as GameFAQs’ Social Link schedule.
That schedule lists several notable exceptions: Emperor is unavailable from November 3 through November 29; Empress is the school-link exception to the guide’s general note about links being unavailable during the week before exams; and Hermit has additional dates beyond its usual schedule. These details make a calendar check more useful than relying on a simple weekday rule.

How to earn Social Link points more efficiently
Before spending time with a character, carry a Persona matching that character’s Arcana. GameFAQs lists a 1.51 multiplier for having a matching-Arcana Persona in stock. The same guide lists bonuses of 1.21 for exam results in the top ten, 1.51 for top of the class, and 1.51 for Charm level 6; it says the top-of-class bonus replaces the top-ten bonus, while the other bonuses stack. These are values listed by that guide, not independently verified measurements. See its schedule and bonus table.
In practice, check the target Arcana before a hangout and keep a matching Persona in stock when possible. This improves point efficiency, but it does not override prerequisites or make a character available on an off day.

Do I need a day-by-day calendar to max every Social Link?
Not necessarily, but a calendar route is the safer choice if full completion is your goal. A first playthrough asks you to divide free time among Social Links, social-stat growth, Tartarus, and other activities. Push Square describes maxing every link in that first run as difficult under those competing demands. A priority-based approach is more flexible, but it is not a guaranteed all-links route.
If you want to pursue every rank, use a day-by-day schedule as a planning reference, track prerequisites, and verify each date in the game. If you would rather avoid strict routing, choose a smaller set of links to prioritize and accept that some may remain unfinished.

Which social stat should I raise first?
Raise the stat needed for a Social Link you intend to unlock or advance soon; there is no universally best stat order established by the scheduling guidance. Social-stat requirements can gate links, so let your preferred routes and their prerequisites determine whether a stat activity is more valuable than a hangout on a given day.
