Nanako Dojima’s Justice Social Link starts automatically on May 3 in Persona 4 Golden. To rank it up efficiently, spend evenings with her at the Dojima residence when Ryotaro is away, bring a Justice Persona for extra relationship points, and meet the Expression gates at the Rank 3-to-4 and Rank 5-to-6 transitions. Complete the link by October 31 if you want to reach Rank 10.
How Nanako’s Justice Social Link works
The link begins through story progression on May 3; you do not need to select an introductory dialogue option to start it. Each later rank event depends on accumulated relationship points. Choose the responses below to earn points efficiently, and carry a Justice Persona when you spend time with Nanako to receive the matching-Arcana bonus. Point totals and some response conditions vary across guide tables, so the choices here focus on the recommended responses and note alternatives or gates where relevant. See RPG Site’s route guide and the GameFAQs response and point tables.
When and where to find Nanako
Nanako is available at night at the Dojima residence when Ryotaro Dojima is not home. Her availability is not a simple weekday schedule: story progress and dungeon completion can affect whether she is there. Check the residence before making your evening plan, and use an available night to advance her link rather than assuming there will be another opportunity later. The PC-focused community walkthrough also notes that story progression affects access: Steam Community Persona-101 guide.
The detailed walkthroughs set October 31 as the deadline to complete the link. That makes late October a poor time to leave several ranks unfinished, particularly if story availability has already limited your evenings. Sources: RPG Site and Prima Games.

Nanako Justice Social Link choices, rank by rank
Use the following route during rank events. Dialogue labels are reproduced as short in-game choice text. Choosing the strongest listed response helps build relationship points toward the next event; it does not by itself guarantee an immediate rank-up if you have not met the hidden point threshold.
Start and Rank 1
The Social Link starts automatically on May 3 through the story. No meaningful answer choice is needed for the initial rank.
Rank #2
- Both Major & Minor Arcana
- Rigid Storage Box w/ Matte Finish
Rank 2
- When Nanako is fidgeting, choose “Go ahead and ask.” “What’s wrong?” is also positive, but the route guides list the first option for the higher gain.
- For the only-child question, choose “That’s right.” If you instead answer “Nope,” choose “I have you” for the sister follow-up.
Rank 3
- For the shopping prompt, choose either “I’ll go buy some” or “Let’s go buy some together”; both are listed as top-gain responses.
- When Nanako is sad, “It’s not Nanako’s fault” is a high-value response if you meet the relevant social-stat condition. The guides also list “Hear her out” as a conditional response, so use it when that branch is available.
Rank 4
Expression 3 is required for this progression point in the cited walkthroughs. Choose “Is there anything else?”, “They go to heaven,” “I don’t know,” and “He’s protecting you.”
Rank 5
- Choose “A person you love a lot,” then “Did he say that?”
- For the later response, choose “Listen to her talk” if your Understanding rank meets the condition. Otherwise, use “Talk with her” as the fallback.
Rank 6
The PC-focused guide places an Expression 5 gate at this point in progression. The listed route choices are “Swear to it” and “I’ll ask him with you.”

Distinguish a rank-event gate from a conditional dialogue response. The cited PC/community walkthrough identifies Expression 3 around the Rank 3-to-4 transition and Expression 5 around Rank 5-to-6. Other response branches in the route tables can depend on Understanding or another dialogue condition; when a recommended line is unavailable, use the listed fallback rather than treating that optional answer as a rank requirement. The exact labels and presentation of social-stat conditions differ among walkthroughs, so the gates above reflect the PC guide’s progression notes rather than a claim that every response requires the same stat.

Getting rank-ups with fewer evenings
- Bring a Justice Persona before spending time with Nanako to earn the matching-Arcana relationship-point bonus.
- Use the rank-by-rank answers above to avoid losing opportunities for relationship points.
- If a hangout does not trigger the next rank event, the hidden relationship-point threshold may not yet be met. A correct answer can make the next event available sooner, but may not replace an additional hangout.
- Check whether Dojima is home and account for dungeon and story progress before relying on a particular night.
The point system and matching-Arcana bonus are described in the GameFAQs guide; RPG Site’s answer values also assume a matching Justice Persona. The GameFAQs guide is listed for Xbox Series X, while the Steam Community guide is PC-specific, so platform-specific availability notes are best treated according to their stated scope.
What Rank 10 unlocks
Maxing Nanako’s Justice link benefits Justice Persona fusion. A separate community guide says maxing a Social Link unlocks that Arcana’s ultimate Persona fusion, but the route references used here do not establish a specific fusion name for the PC game version. Nanako’s link is an optional relationship and story path; these sources do not establish it as a prerequisite for a particular ending. For the general fusion bonus and max-rank unlock explanation, see the Steam Community fusion guide.
