Choose the edition only after matching it to your platform and preferred format. SEGA’s Japanese listing names Standard, Digital Deluxe, Digital Premium and Limited Box editions, but does not list what the three higher-priced editions contain. Until your local store shows those contents, the Standard Edition is the clearest choice; don’t pay extra based on an edition name alone.

Start with your platform and format
PS5: decide whether you want a boxed copy
SEGA lists PS5 among the platforms and says packaged copies are planned for PS5. If you want a physical copy, check local retailers for the Standard Edition listing, availability and price. If you prefer digital, compare the editions shown in your PlayStation store—but buy a higher tier only if that store clearly itemizes what it adds.

Xbox and PC: compare purchase access with Game Pass
SEGA lists Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows and Steam alongside PS5 and Switch 2. On Xbox or PC, compare the purchase options available in your local store with your own Game Pass access. The listing does not establish subscription availability or pricing for your region, so confirm those details in the relevant service before deciding.

When does a higher edition make sense?
Digital Deluxe and Digital Premium sound like upgrades, and Limited Box suggests a distinct package, but names are not itemized contents. The Japanese product summary lists the tiers and prices without saying what extras—if any—each includes. Compare the actual contents in your local storefront or official regional listing before judging whether an upgrade is worth its price. If the contents are absent or unclear, choose Standard or wait for a clearer listing.
Check release timing and purchase bonuses
The general release is listed for 18 February 2027; the Switch 2 release is listed for 20 May 2027. SEGA’s Japanese listing gives a purchase-bonus deadline of 17 February 2027 at 23:59 JST for the general release and 19 May 2027 at 23:59 JST for Switch 2. The listed bonus is a Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal Extra BGM set. Those dates and eligibility are from the Japanese listing: check whether your local store, edition and purchase method qualify rather than assuming the bonus applies everywhere.

- Pick the platform you will actually play on; the announced set is Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PS5, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.
- Choose physical or digital. SEGA says packaged copies are planned for PS5 and Switch 2, with Switch 2 packaged copies limited to Standard.
- Confirm the local release date, edition, price, language support and any bonus eligibility in the store where you plan to buy.
- For Deluxe, Premium or Limited Box, read the itemized contents before paying more. The Japanese summary does not provide them.
SEGA’s June 9, 2025 announcement initially named Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PS5 and Steam; the current product information adds Switch 2. Kazuhisa Wada, P-Studio Director, described the remake as intended to be fresh for newcomers and long-time fans. That is the studio’s promotional framing, not a basis for choosing an edition.
