Wondering which DLC Personas are actually worth using in Persona 5 Royal? It depends on whether you want overwhelming damage, party support, or utility. For raw offense, Izanagi-no-Okami Picaro is the standout; Female Orpheus is a stronger fit for team support, while Raoul offers a different utility-focused option. This is an editorial, role-based ranking—not an official Atlus tier list or a ranking based on hands-on testing.
Best DLC Personas in Persona 5 Royal, ranked
These picks are ranked by what they offer in a party, not by a single universal measure of strength. The leading slot changes with your goal: high area damage, team-wide support, or a more specialized toolkit.

- Izanagi-no-Okami Picaro — best for raw offense. A secondary ranked guide puts him first and emphasizes Myriad Truths as a high-damage area attack. That makes him the clearest pick if your priority is ending fights quickly. The trade-off is that such power can make encounters feel trivial, so he is a poor fit if you want to preserve the challenge of a normal playthrough. See the ranked guide’s role descriptions.
- Female Orpheus — best for party support. The same guide highlights Neo Cadenza for combining party healing with buffs. Her appeal is keeping the team healthy and supported, rather than competing for the highest damage output. See the ranked guide’s role descriptions.
- Raoul — best utility-focused option. The guide discusses Raoul in connection with ailment and utility options. Atlus’s Japanese DLC listing confirms that Raoul comes with a dedicated battle skill set, but it does not rank his strength against other Personas. Choose him for the utility angle, not on the assumption that an official source calls him the best. Atlus’s Japanese DLC listing; ranked guide.
- Asterius — specialized fire damage. The ranked guide describes Asterius as a fire-focused damage choice. That specialization can suit a particular build or encounter, but it is a narrower reason to choose him than a broad offense or support role. See the ranked guide’s role descriptions.
- Magatsu-Izanagi — a broader offensive toolkit. The guide describes a mix of curse, electric, and physical options. Consider him if you want a more varied damage profile rather than Asterius’s fire focus. This is a secondary source’s role description, not an official comparative rating. See the ranked guide’s role descriptions.
- Messiah — defensive and support alternative. The guide points to healing, survival, and Oratorio support utility. That makes him a candidate for players who value staying power over top-end damage. See the ranked guide’s role descriptions.
Athena, male Orpheus, Izanagi, and other DLC options may still suit a specific party or point in progression. Their position in any ranking depends on role, access, and timing; a lower universal priority does not mean a Persona is always weak.
How to choose the right DLC Persona
- Match the role to your need. Pick offense for faster fights, support for party healing and buffs, utility for a specialized approach, or defensive support for survival.
- Consider when you can use it. A community-maintained roster lists Female Orpheus as a DLC Persona at level 11 and Raoul at level 76. Those are roster-reference levels, not an official guarantee about access on every platform or in every version. Community-maintained Persona roster.
- Decide how much power you want. A high-damage pick can compress the difficulty. If you enjoy working through encounters with your regular party, the most powerful option may not be the most satisfying one.
- Prefer a specialist or a generalist? A focused option such as fire damage may suit a narrow purpose; a varied toolkit or team support may be more useful across situations.

DLC Personas are not the same as New Game+ fusion Personas
Do not treat every powerful Persona as DLC. The community-maintained roster labels Satanael a level 95 advanced fusion available only in New Game+, while it lists Raoul as DLC at level 76. These roster labels and levels distinguish access routes; they are not a platform-specific availability guarantee. Community-maintained Persona roster.

No official Atlus ranking comparing DLC Persona strength is established by the available product listings. The order above uses a secondary guide’s role descriptions and an editorial framework: damage, party support, utility, and defensive value. Treat it as a way to choose for your play style, not a publisher verdict or a measured tier list.
