This guide covers Sojiro Sakura’s Hierophant Confidant in Persona 5 Royal, including when and where to find him, progression gates, recommended dialogue answers, and rank rewards. The original Persona 5 can differ in dates, availability, and other details, so do not assume every Royal-specific detail applies to both games.
Where and when to find Sojiro
Sojiro’s Confidant is the Hierophant, and his usual meeting place is Café LeBlanc. The link begins on April 20 in Persona 5 Royal. Guides generally place him there in the evening, usually except Wednesdays; rain and story progress can affect the pattern, so check the current calendar and game state before planning around a specific night. Rank gates and how to earn points
Sojiro’s progression is restricted by both story events and Joker’s social stats. You can raise the link only as far as Rank 4 before clearing Futaba’s Palace. Prima Games places Rank 5 after August 22 and after the Palace is cleared. Rank 7 requires high Kindness: Prima calls the requirement “Angelic Kindness,” while the GameFAQs guide describes it as maximum Kindness, so check the in-game requirement for your version rather than assuming those labels are identical. Rank 9 requires the Mementos request “The Money-Grubbing Uncle.” Prima Games and GameFAQs list these progression conditions.
- Bring a Hierophant Persona when meeting Sojiro. A Persona matching the Confidant’s Arcana increases relationship points. Push Square explains this general rank-up tactic.
- A favorable dialogue answer increases points, but answers marked “ANY” below do not require a particular choice for the guide’s recommended route.
- Some meetings add relationship points without immediately triggering a rank-up. You may need to spend time with Sojiro again before the next rank becomes available.

Sojiro’s rank abilities let Joker prepare coffee and curry that restore SP. Prima Games describes some recovery amounts qualitatively, while the GameFAQs guide gives the exact item values below for Persona 5 Royal; those figures are attributed to that guide.
