The wider release followed earlier availability in China, South Korea, and the Traditional Chinese area, so “ending China exclusivity” is an incomplete description of the rollout.
When did Persona5: The Phantom X release globally?
SEGA’s launch-time notice set the global release for June 25, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time, which was June 26 at 03:00 UTC. SEGA subsequently announced that the game had launched on June 26, 2025, on mobile and PC. The official release-time notice and SEGA’s launch release confirm the timing.
The launch was digital: the notice directed players to app stores and Steam and recommended downloading over Wi-Fi because the download involved a large amount of data. The notice does not establish a physical edition.
Was P5X only available in China before the global launch?
No. SEGA’s May 2025 fiscal-year schedule records an April 2024 release for China, South Korea, and the Traditional Chinese area on iOS and Android. It describes those regional versions as licensed out. That history makes “China exclusivity” shorthand for the game’s earlier regional availability, not a precise account of which markets had access.

SEGA’s May 2025 schedule also listed Japan for summer 2025 on iOS, Android, and PC. That was a planning entry in that report, not confirmation of a current release schedule. SEGA’s fiscal-year schedule documents the regional rollout and that Japan planning entry.
Which platforms and price model did SEGA announce?
SEGA lists iOS, Android, Google Play Games, and Steam as platforms, and describes the game as free to play with optional in-game item purchases. Store availability can vary by territory; check the relevant store listing for current access rather than assuming a client or listing is available everywhere.
