The closest match to “Frostgale Kotone” is Persona 5: The Phantom X’s Ver. 4.10 update, but SEGA’s September 25, 2026 announcement names the new character as Kotone Shiomi and does not announce a new main-story chapter. Shiomi is the female protagonist of Persona 3 Portable, featured in the “Reach for the MOON!” collaboration. She is distinct from P5X’s earlier character Kotone: Ice Storm.
Who is “Frostgale Kotone” in Persona 5: The Phantom X?
SEGA’s official Ver. 4.10 announcement does not use the name “Frostgale Kotone.” It introduces Kotone Shiomi, Persona 3 Portable’s female protagonist, as a five-star character in a P3P collaboration. The reviewed official announcements do not establish “Frostgale Kotone” as an official character name.
There is also a separate P5X character named Kotone: Ice Storm, announced in January 2026. SEGA described her as a character who switches between Wind and Ice attributes. The similar names do not make her Kotone Shiomi: they are distinct characters introduced in different updates.
| Character | Source and announcement | Officially stated details |
|---|---|---|
| Kotone Shiomi | Persona 3 Portable protagonist; featured in P5X Ver. 4.10, announced September 25, 2026 | Five-star, Fire-element, Advantage-role character |
| Kotone: Ice Storm | P5X character announced with Ver. 3.0 on January 9, 2026 | Switches between Wind and Ice attributes |
What does the Ver. 4.10 Persona 3 Portable collaboration add?
“Reach for the MOON!” crossover story
The collaboration draws on P3P’s Dark Hour and Tartarus. In its scenario, P5X’s Phantom Thieves encounter Kotone in Tartarus and fight alongside her. Completing the collaboration’s main scenario awards character development materials, the P3P music collection, and P3P artwork for My Palace.

Did Ver. 4.10 add a new main-story chapter?
No new main-story chapter is identified in SEGA’s Ver. 4.10 announcement. The update is centered on the P3P collaboration, rather than a new chapter in P5X’s main narrative.
The most recent main-story update in the reviewed announcements was Ver. 4.7, announced August 18, 2026. It opened Chapter 4, Act 2, “The Mask of Sincerity,” and introduced Ichigo Shikano. Earlier, Ver. 3.0 paired Chapter 3, Act 3, “Unconditional Love,” with Kotone: Ice Storm. That earlier combination may explain how the Ice Storm name and a main-story update became associated, but it is not what Ver. 4.10 announced.
