Phantom Blade Zero requires a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC, DirectX 12, 16 GB of memory and an SSD. S-GAME’s minimum profile targets 1080p at 30 frames per second with upscaling enabled; its recommended profile targets 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling. Ray tracing and path tracing use separate, substantially faster GPU recommendations. These figures are developer targets, not independent launch benchmarks.
Official Phantom Blade Zero PC requirements
S-GAME published four PC profiles on August 12, 2026. The first two describe the standard rendering experience, while the latter two are separate recommendations for ray tracing and path tracing. The resolution and frame-rate figures explicitly assume upscaling.

The RTX 5060 and RTX 5080 entries are not replacements for the standard minimum and recommended CPU profiles. S-GAME has not published a CPU pairing for either ray-tracing tier, so it is not possible to infer an official processor requirement for those modes. It also has not stated an installation size, a required SSD capacity, graphics presets, exact upscaler modes or expected VRAM consumption by setting.

A requirement-sheet target is different from a measured benchmark. “1080p/30 FPS with upscaling enabled” means S-GAME is aiming for that output under its own test conditions; it does not establish native 1080p rendering at 30 FPS, a locked frame rate in every scene or performance on every card with a similar name. The same qualification applies to the 1440p/60, 1080p/60 ray-tracing and 2160p/60 path-tracing figures.

The announcement does not identify its test build, graphics preset, internal rendering resolution, upscaling quality mode, CPU workload, scene selection or frame-time tolerance. No independent launch-build benchmark was available by October 13, 2026, and no measured upscaling gain has been published. Treat the table as a compatibility and purchasing guide, not a guarantee.
Why upscaling matters
Upscaling renders some or all of the image below the displayed resolution and reconstructs it for the monitor. That can reduce GPU work, but image quality and performance depend on the selected mode and the game’s implementation. Because S-GAME has not named the mode used for each target, you cannot convert its figures into a precise native-resolution requirement.
What “60 FPS” does not tell you
A frame-rate average can hide stutter, shader-compilation pauses or dips during effects-heavy combat. The official material contains no frame-time traces or 1% low results. If consistent motion is important to you, leave headroom rather than buying a card solely because it appears in the recommended row.

Can your PC run Phantom Blade Zero?
Check your system against every part of the minimum row, not just the graphics card. A machine that misses the operating-system, API, memory or storage requirement is not equivalent to one that merely uses a slower GPU.
- Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Graphics API: DirectX 12 support.
- Memory: 16GB system RAM.
- Storage: an SSD is required. S-GAME has not stated the game’s capacity, so keep additional free space available for installation and updates.
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 is the minimum example; Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X is the recommended example.
- Graphics: GTX 1660 6GB or RX 5500 XT 8GB for the minimum target; RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or RX 6700 XT 12GB for the recommended target.
Model numbers are not a perfect substitute for performance. Laptop versions, power limits, cooling and system configuration can make two products with the same family name behave differently. Compare the exact GPU installed in your computer, including whether it is a mobile variant.
GPU choices and sensible upgrade thresholds
S-GAME’s examples establish four useful reference points, but they do not provide head-to-head results between the listed cards. Use them to identify the closest tier rather than to claim that one brand will deliver a specific advantage.

If your current card is below the GTX 1660 or RX 5500 XT class, the published minimum target is not established for your system. If it falls between the minimum and recommended examples, expect to make a resolution, quality or frame-rate compromise; S-GAME has not published enough data to predict which setting will be the most effective. A card at or above the recommended examples gives you a more appropriate starting point for 1440p, but it still does not guarantee a locked 60 FPS.

Memory capacity is one constraint; shader throughput, ray-tracing hardware, power limits and the rest of the system also affect performance.
Ray tracing, path tracing and announced PC features
S-GAME separates ordinary rendering from its ray-tracing and path-tracing recommendations. Ray tracing models selected lighting effects; path tracing applies a more comprehensive ray-based lighting approach and is substantially more demanding. The separate GPU targets indicate that these modes should not be treated as a small checkbox added to the standard recommended profile.

NVIDIA announced day-one DLSS 4 support with Multi Frame Generation, along with PC-exclusive ray-traced reflections, shadows and caustics. The announcement confirms those features were planned, but it does not quantify their frame-rate benefit. Multi Frame Generation can alter displayed frame counts and latency characteristics, so a headline FPS number produced with it should not be compared directly with a conventional rendered-frame result.
In its June 2, 2026 delay letter, S-GAME said it had spent additional effort preserving the game’s visual impact without relying on ray tracing. That is the studio’s design and development statement, not an independent image-quality test. It does mean that the non-ray-traced mode is intended to remain a core presentation rather than merely a fallback for weak hardware.

CPU, RAM, DirectX 12 and SSD considerations
Processor
The minimum and recommended CPU examples are from different performance classes, but S-GAME has not supplied a processor for either RT or path-tracing profile. A faster GPU cannot remove a CPU bottleneck in simulation, streaming or draw-call-heavy scenes. If your processor is below the listed minimum examples, the official target does not apply even if your graphics card is fast enough.

Memory
Both standard profiles specify 16GB of system memory. That is a requirement, not a statement that the game will use exactly 16GB or that other applications will have no effect. Close unnecessary programs and check for memory pressure when troubleshooting stutter. S-GAME has not published a higher RAM recommendation for ray tracing or path tracing.
SSD
An SSD is mandatory in the published profiles. The developer has not stated a capacity or drive model. Keep the game on an SSD with sufficient free space for the initial installation, patches and temporary update files; the exact amount cannot be calculated from the published requirements.
DirectX 12 and Windows
Both Windows 10 and Windows 11 are listed, provided the installation is 64-bit. DirectX 12 support is required. Updating Windows and the graphics driver can resolve missing-feature errors, but an update cannot add hardware support that the GPU does not possess.
How to prepare your PC before release
- Identify the exact hardware. In Windows, open Settings, select System, then About to see the processor and installed RAM. Open Settings, select System, then Display, then Advanced display to identify the active display; use Task Manager’s Performance tab to confirm the GPU model.
- Verify 64-bit Windows. In Settings, select System, then About, and check “System type.” The requirement is Windows 10/11 64-bit.
- Confirm DirectX 12. Press Windows key plus R, enter
dxdiag, and inspect the System and Display tabs. This verifies the reported API and driver information; it does not certify that the GPU meets S-GAME’s performance target. - Check the install drive. In File Explorer, right-click the SSD volume and choose Properties. Reserve room for the game and updates. The final installation size has not been announced.
- Update the GPU driver from its manufacturer. Use the current driver offered for your exact card and operating system, then restart before first launch.
- Start conservatively. If your hardware is near the minimum, begin at 1080p with upscaling enabled and a 30 FPS cap, then adjust one setting at a time after observing frame pacing. Do not assume a particular preset or upscaler mode is the one S-GAME used because it has not published those details.
Practical troubleshooting when performance is poor
The game will not start
- Confirm that Windows is 64-bit and that the GPU supports DirectX 12.
- Install the latest driver for the exact GPU model and reboot.
- Install the game on an SSD and verify that the drive has free space for updates.
- Check that the system has at least 16GB of RAM and that no hardware is disabled in firmware or Device Manager.
Frame rate is below the stated target
- Check whether the game is actually using the dedicated GPU rather than integrated graphics.
- Enable the available upscaling option and reduce output resolution or visual quality before disabling features at random.
- Watch GPU and CPU utilization separately. GPU saturation suggests a rendering load; a fully occupied CPU or inconsistent frame times suggests a processor, background-task or streaming limitation.
- Use a frame-rate cap appropriate to your display and test a repeatable area. A short average does not establish sustained performance.
Stutter or hitching
- Leave background recording, browser tabs and overlays closed while diagnosing.
- Keep the game on the SSD and maintain free space for patching.
- Allow any first-run shader or asset preparation to finish, if the game provides such a process.
- Lower ray-tracing or path-tracing features first if enabled; their official GPU recommendations are separate from the standard profile.
These steps are general PC troubleshooting practices. They do not substitute for a game-specific patch or a measured benchmark, neither of which was available at the time of the published requirements.
Release date and what to recheck
S-GAME’s official website currently lists October 29, 2026. A June 2 developer letter on Steam says the game moved from September 9 to October 29. The Steam product listing displayed October 28, 2026 when checked on October 13, which may reflect regional unlock timing or storefront presentation. Use October 29 as the developer’s stated date and check the store page near launch for your region.
Because the game had not released at the time of the requirements check, there are no verified launch-build averages, frame-time charts, graphics-preset comparisons or measured DLSS gains to add to the official targets. Those are the figures to look for in later testing when deciding whether your own hardware needs an upgrade.
