Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026, according to developer S-GAME. PlayStation says the game arrives October 28 in the US and select regions, while its Steam listing also shows October 28. The September 9 date revealed in the game’s trailer at The Game Awards 2025 was superseded by the studio’s June 2026 delay announcement.
When does Phantom Blade Zero come out?
S-GAME’s current announced launch date is October 29, 2026. PlayStation’s August 17, 2026 coverage gives October 29 with an asterisk noting October 28 in the US and select regions; Steam lists October 28, 2026. The sources do not map the release hour for every market, so check the relevant store listing for your region closer to launch.

What did the Game Awards trailer announce?
At The Game Awards 2025, S-GAME released a date-reveal trailer that set the game’s launch for September 9, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The trailer also showed story moments, enemies, and weapons, according to the studio’s Steam news post. That September date is historical, not the current schedule.
Why was Phantom Blade Zero delayed?
On June 2, 2026, S-GAME CEO and creator Soulframe Liang announced the move to October 29. Liang said the extra time would go toward upgraded character models, reworked environments, and maintaining visual impact without relying on ray tracing. He framed the delay as time to finish specific improvements, not as an assurance that every issue had been solved: “A 50-day delay cannot solve everything. But it does give us enough time to complete a number of clearly defined and genuinely important improvements.” These are the developer’s stated reasons and goals, not independent assessments of the game’s final quality.

What kind of game is Phantom Blade Zero?
S-GAME describes Phantom Blade Zero as a dark wuxia action game. Its protagonist, Soul, has 66 days left to live and is framed for murdering his master; he pursues a conspiracy in the Wulin. The Steam page identifies S-GAME Studio as developer and S-GAME Publishing as publisher, and describes the game as combining wuxia storytelling with action using Unreal Engine 5.
Weapons, difficulty, and story paths
PlayStation’s official coverage describes more than 30 main weapons and 25 secondary weapons called Phantom Edges, along with weapon upgrades, side quests that may open story paths, and three difficulty options: Wayfarer, Hellwalker, and Sixty-Six Days. The same coverage says Donnie Yen is the game’s Creative Consultant and performs Mó Yuan through facial and motion capture.
