To complete Nell’s Diner’s Easter egg in Phasmophobia, follow the UV note’s directions to get safe code 415, then use the safe’s ATM card to withdraw cash, buy a coin from the vending machine, and spend it on the Lair of the Unliving arcade cabinet. The walkthrough reports that the Ghost in the Machine ID card and badge are awarded after you return to the lobby and review the contract results.

Decode the safe code

  1. Get the UV light. Take it from the truck and enter the manager’s office. Shine it on the small sticky note on the wall behind the safe. It reveals the directions down, up, right.
  2. Find the three numbered arrows. The down arrow in the dining area points to 4. Outside, beneath the illuminated Nell’s Diner sign, the up arrow points to 1. By the dumpster, the right arrow points to 5.
  3. Read the numbers in the note’s order. Down, up, right gives you 4-1-5, the safe code.

Open the safe and get cash

  1. Return to the manager’s office and enter 415 into the safe.
  2. Grab the safe’s handle to open it, then take the ATM card inside. The Prima Games walkthrough notes that the handle interaction can be finicky; if it does not open, try interacting with the handle again.
  3. Find the ATM in the long red hallway near the door to the central dining area. If it is inactive, turn on the fuse box to restore power.
  4. Aim at the card slot near the lower-right of the ATM screen and use the card. Pick up the cash it dispenses. If the ATM does not respond, check the building’s power and aim carefully at the slot; repeated interaction may help.

Get the coin and activate the arcade game

  1. Use the cash on the red Mr. Sprinkle vending machine and pick up the coin that drops.
  2. Go to the staff room beside the manager’s office. Use the coin on the Lair of the Unliving arcade cabinet.
  3. The walkthrough describes a glowing skull emerging from the game and flying out through a nearby window, followed by a larger green skull apparition visible outside.

Claim the badge

Return to the truck and leave for the lobby. According to the walkthrough, the Ghost in the Machine ID card and badge appear after you review the contract results.

What is confirmed about the puzzle

The step sequence and reward are described in a Prima Games walkthrough, rather than in official patch notes. Kinetic Games’ Nell’s Diner announcement confirms that the map launched with Phasmophobia v0.15.0.0 and describes the map as having 14 rooms, including 13 possible ghost rooms, but it does not document the Easter egg. The announcement therefore establishes the map’s release context, not whether the puzzle steps or reward have changed in later builds. The walkthrough does not state a difficulty requirement.
